Hi

In relation to mitochondrial support/protection/biogenesis, is there any consensus about the "optimal" dosage of these supplements:

Alpha-Lipoic-Acid

Q10

Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Resveratrol

Can you please also comment on the following. Based on what I've been reading so far, the below seems to be recommended in realtion to the mitochondria. Do you agree?

Trans-Resveratrol instead of Resveratrol

r-ALA instead of ALA

Ubiquinol instead of Q10

Is there any consensus about the dosage her for mitochondrial support/protection/biogenesis?

Ubiquinol is the better form of CoQ, over Ubiquinone. 100 mg is all you would need.

r-ALA is also the superior form of ALA, and is usually combined with ALCAR. Do a search on these boards or even on google and you'll easily get the recommended dosages. I've never used ALA but dose anywhere from 500 to 1500 mg of ALCAR most days.

I believe most resveratrol is of the trans- variety, though I could be wrong here. Again, do a search to determine your proper dosage.

I recommend picking one of these as your base "mitochondrial enhancer", (with ALCAR + rALA being considered as one supplement), and cycling the others. You should also look into c-60 and PQQ, but again, you won't need to use all of these supplements at once.

Thanks, GoingPrimal. Cycling could be a good idea. The PQQ is rather expensive.
