Greeting Everyone,

Apologies if this topic has already been covered, I did a site search but did not come up with very much.

I have recently been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and was hoping there were some more knowledgeable people than myself on longecity willing to share some insight.

I will be seeing a specialist and will be doing a handful of more tests, but I would love to get a head start on anything I can do myself regarding treatment.

If anyone knows of any Supplements, Herbs, Diets, OTC Medications, or anything at all that I could be doing to help my body, I would be forever grateful for the help.  I just feel very overwhelmed with all the information on the Internet about Crohns.  Inflammation seems to be a huge factor, which may also explain the depression/anxiety I have dealt with over the past few years.  It would seem that all my problems stem from a Immune/Inflammation issue(s).  I am still fresh on learning what Crohn's Disease actually is, before last week I had no idea what it was.

Thank you very much for any help, I truly do appreciate any that comes my way.

P.S. I hope this is posted in the right board, If not, Please let me know and I will ask for it to be moved.

Thank you!

Figure A: Shown is the rectum of a subject with active Crohn’s Disease before starting therapy with naltrexone 4.5 mg/day. The mucosa is ulcerated, edematous, and inflamed.
Figure B: Shows the same area of the rectum in the same patient four weeks after naltrexone therapy. The lining is now healed, ulcers resolved, and the mucosa is healthy. http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/17222320

Wow, thank you for sharing this!  I am taking low dose naltrexone 4.5mg each night, so this really gives me hope!  Cheers!!

If I had an illness like this I would look at three things right away:

Helmints, there are other forums where they are debated in much more rigor. Forum user Nushu has infected himself.

Mitochondrial antioxidants like MitoQ, SkQ1, C60-OO, EGT, IAC, MitoTEMPO.

I take MitoQ and C60, they are cheap and accessible, MitoQ looks very tox-safe, C60-OO is probably safe but that is a bit more uncertain.

EGT is possible to get via diet and reach significant levels, someone on some forum lost for me blabbered about it and Chrons once :)

The third thing you should try, and report back on of course, is periodic fasting.

My doc is thinking i have crohns disease, havent yet been completely diagnosed am just waiting for the colonoscopy but all things seem to lead that way. I was thinking of starting CBD oil for its anti inflam properties any thoughts? I also had an old lecturer who used oil for his wifes auto immune thyroid disease and it helped re boot her immune, they dont know the cause for crohsn though but cant hurt to try, im also trying for another baby so im nervous that any drugs in the future they may put me on will affect that as ive read some would cause miscarriage but how did you go with naltrexone. Im really hoping i wont need any surgeries or anything its quite distressing and the waiting is even more worrying. I dont understand why kalliste has mentioned helminths ? Kalliste are you saying there could be parasites and not an inflammation issue causing bowel disease.

Thanks for posting the thread!
