I've been taking nootropics for a little over a year now. Through that year I took a 2 month break but otherwise it has been straight through.

I've tried: ( Not everything being a nootropic - but a supplement)

Noopept

Piracetam

Oxiracetam

Schizandrol A

Alpha GPC

N-acetylcysteine

Magnesium (Ionized for absorption)

L-Glycine

Tongkat Ali extract 1:200 / 1:100

Through my experiences, I have to say that piracetam and noopept are great nootropics to take on a daily occurrence (twice a day) if you're looking for something to increase your:

1) Memory

2) Focus / concentration

3) Verbal communication

4) Fluid intelligence

5) Energy

6) Motvation

These 6 different things have dramatically increased over this past year. My memory is more keen than it has ever been, my focus lasts until I finish the job at hand, intrapersonal communication has been much more expressive (partially due to fluid intelligence), my motivation has been paramount, and my energy from waking up to going to sleep has been so much higher than it used to be.

Some hiccups, and my solutions for them:

1) Irritability / tension        <- Solution "Magnesium"

2) Headaches / brain fog   <- *Solution* Alpha GPC

3) Loss for words    <- (This comes from noopept) - It happens to me for about the first to second week of taking noopept and TIME is the solution (It goes away)   - I think this loss for words is due in part of looking for better words to say rather than the simple words I have used within the past

 - The noopept and piracetam continually effect you as you take them, there's no need to increase dosage. As well, as you continue to take the stack, their effects broaden and your mind becomes more and more sharp within different areas.

----

For oxiracetam, i've only been taking it in the morning (once a day) with noopept.

- I don't want to speak on this nootropic yet because I still haven't reached my verdict. For me, it has led to some restlessness and irritability (if taken with piracetam - that stack doesn't work for me).

---

Tongkat Ali works wonders. You can look it up online and see all the different studies that prove its effectiveness in the elevation of free testosterone.

For a subjective look on it, I have been taking it for about two months straight now (I used to cycle, until I realized that there's really no reason to cycle every month off). Being on it for the past two months, I have seen a significant growth in body mass (from working out), much more incremental compared to workout periods w/o tongkat. I have an increase desire for sexual activities, as well, my libido has increased in size (about 3/4 -> 1 inch).

 - Again, irritability does arise, but magnesium definitely treats this potential hiccup.

---

I take glycine in order to have great sleep. I take 3 grams 30 minutes before I pass out and my sleep quality definitely benefits. I wake up feeling much more energetic and when I wake up during the middle of then night, I'm incredibly drowsy (whereas I would normally be wondering to myself how I could stop thinking to go back to sleep).

---

Schizandrol A. Woah baby. This stuff is incredible. It's an adaptogen, so basically it magnifies whatever it is that you take with it, as well, it also magnified the environment that you take it in.

For example, if I don't take anything with Schizandrol A and I go to the gym. I am working out, so the Schizandrol gives me more focus to workout.

After the workout (in this scenario where I haven't taken anything with it) I will get home and an hour later I'll feel really relaxed instead of focused.

- When you take Schizandrol A with oxiracetam, noopept, piracetam:

You will be incredibly focused, you won't really be in the mood to smile, you are more in the mode of "Let's burn this pile of work down to the ground" - Whether that means labor or study.

---

The juicy details: - My routine stack

Morning:

800mg Oxiracetam

450mg Alpha GPC

10mg Noopept

650mg Tongkat Ali 1:200 Extract

Afternoon:

1200mg Piracetam

10mg Noopept

450mg Alpha GPC

650mg Tongkat ali 1:200 Extract

Night:

4mL Magnesium (Ionized - liquid version)

3g Glycine

I'm going to experiment with taking magnesium in the morning w/ oxiracetam instead of taking it at night w/ glycine. The reason for this is because I heard it potentiates oxiracetam, and I'd rather use it as a excitotoxicity limiting agent along with it's other aspects (get the most out of it)

--

Explanation of what I'm doing with this thread:

Here I am determined to keep up with my stacks (modifications/additions/substitutions/deletions and reasons for doing so), to bring up questions, to answer all questions that I have an answer for (questions asked by YOU!) and to gain insight from you guys - PLEASE, i'm looking for insight from all, and i'd be glad to get tips.

You see something that stimulates a response, write it down in this thread!

Thanks much,

I'm glad to be here, keep coming back to this thread, and participate!

Today I decided that I would be best off without oxiracetam. Since i've been using it I have had spurts of restlessness, a tendency to procrastinate (not normal for me), and lows of depression. I've only been taking oxiracetam for about two weeks and all of these negative side effects have come about within the past week.

- I have a month left of the stuff, so I might use it once in a while (just like how I use my schizandrol A)

---

my morning stack will be:

900mg Piracetam

10mg Noopept

450mg Alpha GPC

650mg Tongkat Ali

(Occasionally schizandrol a)

- My PM stack's piracetam will have 900mg instead of 1200mg

Attached File  DK - Pose LP 980+45lb - Aug 4 09.JPG   84.88KB   5 downloadsNice post.. and details.. You gave me some ideals.

However, you did not state your age? I think one requires different supplements and different dosages as one ages.

At age 59 I was deadlifting 500 lbs, and leg pressing multiply times.. 1,080 lbs EFFORTLESSLY.   (I have pics.) DEADLIFT DID REQUIRE EFFORT HOWEVER !

I found BSN NO-Xplode a wonderful supplement for that.. but also high doses of Systemic Enzymes. I'd suggest you search and read about the health benefit of systemic enzymes.. which are involved in 3,000 body functions.

Hey Astroid,

I'm 21 years old - I can see that I need to update my profile to be a little more specific!

I'll look into systemic enzymes - how have they effected you? Do you recommend any in particular?

I used to take N.O. Explode and black powder but I didn't like how much they effected my heartbeat so I stopped taking them both.

For working out, every now and then I take some form of arginine for a great blood pump, and 3 or so times a week I take the schizandrol A which is phenomenal if you're looking for something to focus you in and tune everything out.

Nootropic insight gained:

* Oxiracetam is the culprit for loss of motivation, loss of concentration, the onset of restlessness, and a mild headache at the occipital body of my skull - all of which has been effecting me for the past week (I started taking oxiracetam about 2 weeks ago) - And all of which has gone away, the moment I decided this morning that I will not be taking it anymore (I skipped the dose and I wasn't effected negatively. My normal mindset of motivation, concentration, energy w/ no restlessness came back full-fledged.)

    - Now, i'm not positive why this nootropic had such a negative effect on my mind - I took out the possibility for excitotoxicity (by taking it alongside magnesium)

                 - Other reasons that I can assume possible for oxiracetam's negative effects on my body:

1) Oxiracetam has bad interactions when taken with noopept

2) Oxiracetam has negative interactions when taken with piracetam

3) Oxiracetam has negative interactions when taken with piracetam and noopept (all together)

4) Oxiracetam has negative side effects if continuously consumed for longer than 3 days

Or, more reasonably - Oxiracetam just doesn't work well inside my body! - Maybe i'm deficient in something that it needs to work well, or maybe I take something else that opposes its beauty.

----

Just a BTW, something I forgot to mention about a benefit that l-glycine has had for me:

- I had heartburn every time I woke up before I was taking it, and now I don't ;)

Hey Pure,

The place that I get my nootropics and tongkat ali is powdercity, they've always given me what I asked for (if its in stock) at a timely manner and the shipping is free (if you buy 20$ or more).

They sell tongkat ali 1:100 extract and 1:200 extract w/o barely any price difference. I'd say go for the tongkat ali 1:200. The standard dose is 650mg, twice a day. (one at morning/afternoon, one afternoon/night)

You won't feel the effects until about a week to 1 1/2 weeks in, but once you do, you'll feel great :)

As for the magnesium, I get mine from a vitamin shoppe close to me, this product.

Hey Zakariah

I've been working doing garden and yard work.. and only Magnesium Bicarbonate Water quinces my thirst.  You lose Mag, Potassium and Sodium when you sweat  or urinate...... Try making the Mag Water and see how it helps.. For Potassium and Sodium an Endocrinologist came up with an Adrenal Cocktail.. 4 oz of OJ, 1/4 teaspoon of Cream of Tartar (Potassium), and 1/4 teaspoon of ground up sea salt.

I normally take both before and after working in the heat and sun.

The pic of my deadlifting was also of my ripping both bicep tendons.. I was down to one arm for 3 years.. and the Andrews Sports Center did not have an answer.. My friend suggested Vitalzym that is used as a pain killer in Europe.. I took Hi doses.. 3 per day is normal... I took 6 @ 3-4x day.. and in 90 days healed both biceps 90%.. that was 4 years ago.  I have also used them for a shoulder after lifting Kayaks.. and in 6 weeks healed the issue.. Reduces pain and speeds up healing.  Blood pressure went to 105/50... as it lowers blood pressure naturally.. as they are from plants.

I haven't ever taken potassium (as a supplement) because I typically eat a sizable portion of bananas, beans, potatoes, and avocados.

I looked up the Vitalzym. It's quite expensive, but there have been great reviews support it's value.

As of right now, my stack is working wonders. I feel great levels of testosterone (increased libido, increased sexual energy, increased mass gain and endurance), I feel energetic, my mood is upbeat, and my memory is out of this world. I have never had as good of memory as I do right now, I can look at something once, associate it with something, and remember it into the next week.

I just started drinking coffee again - only allowing myself to drink one cup twice a week. I don't want to build tolerance or a dependency for coffee.

At this point in time, I'm looking for activities that can increase my concentration.

I'm going to start looking for different solutions (such as meditation, journaling more, etc.)

 I'm also LOOKING FOR SUGGESTIONS!!

Thanks much :)

Oh man!

I realize now how much of a negative impact the 2 weeks constant use of oxiracetam had on me! After taking it, I still felt a huge decrease in focus, a lot of restless energy, and some mild depression. This was all because of sleep deprivation - After taking a long nap yesterday and sleeping well last night, today has been how it was before I starting on the oxiracetam (tremendously productive and filled w/ bright energy).

Still on the same routine, with one addition!

It is the beginning of allergy season for me and so, it is time to spend tons of money on allergy medicine! I started my medication regimine by finishing off the allerga that I had. I ran out of it two days ago, so yesterday I picked up some Clairitin-D, D standing for the product's *decongestant agent* pseudoephedrine.

It dawned on me that I felt more stimulated and had a mild euphoric feeling about an hour after consumption. I felt more awake, my heart beat was pulsating a little faster than normal and I was put into a great happy mood. Well, I bought the 24 hour version of Claritin-D and today when I woke up, I still felt the same way.

So just a heads up, I have had pseudoephedrine many times throughout my life and I have never had this reaction to it, only until I took it with my nootropic stack.

Alright, it's been a week since I posted last to this thread.

Update on how I feel:

I have been falling into irritable moods lately. Usually when I get upset about something, I ponder over it, but never do I really internalize the anger unless it's a very bad situation in which I have been irrevocably disrespected. As of the past three days, I have found myself in two separate situations where I had internalized my anger instead of keeping it external, and thinking about it in a logical way. My girlfriend had asked me why I was so upset over one situation, and yesterday my co-worker told me that usually they come to me when they need to be cheered up so it was strange to see me in such a bad mood.

I thought about everything and wondered what could possibly be putting me into such bad fits of irritability.. Then I remembered that I started taking pseudoephedrine a week ago. I looked the side-effects up online and 4 of them have shown up since I started taking it: 1) Heart palpatations 2) Stimulation 3) Irritability 4) I can always easily last past 2 rounds of sexual activity without needing a 'pump up' but one time this week after the first round, I needed some motivation

The strangest thing is that I took pseudoephedrine last year and it worked perfectly, without any of these side-effect. The only thing that I can attribute this negative addition to is the cocktail that I am on now. - So, For me pseudoephedrine does not go well with the following together: piracetam, noopept, tongkat

What decongestant am I going to take now? N-acetyl-cysteine. I've taken it before as an agent to negate excitotoxicity, and it worked as a great decongestant. I shall take it again starting tomorrow, and report my findings!

Alright! I am finished with my old stack, I am done with my allergies, and I have taken a two week break from nootropics.

I returned to nootropics about a week ago. My current stack:

AM and PM:

10mg Noopept

800mg Piracetam

480mg Alpha GPC

Right when I got back on it I felt much more energetic, much less anxious, and more cognition.

I bought aniracetam and today I decided to take it for the first time with noopept and choline (no piracetam)

Alright! New stacks everyone.

AM:

1100mg Piracetam

10mg Noopept

500mg Alpha GPC

 - waiting on tongkat 2% - starting at 125mg

 - waiting on siberian ginseng - starting at 300mg

PM:

1100mg Piracetam

10mg Noopept

500mg Alpha GPC

- waiting on siberian ginseng - starting at 300mg

Ginseng and tongkat coming in about 3-4 days.. I ordered it yesterday. - Will keep y'all updated once I start on those two!

---

Past experience with tongkat:

Looking back, I had major fatigue problems until I started on the tongkat and stayed on it for a couple months. At that time, I attributed the high amount of energy to piracetam and noopept, but I think that it was mainly tongkat. I am lacking in the same energy that I had during that time period and so I can't wait to see if it floods back through my body once I start again.

As for Siberian Ginseng, my hopes are that it also helps me beat fatigue and in doing so helps me become much more energetic.

Alright! So, I've been on the tongkat and the siberian ginseng for the past 2 days, (this is the third day). And today, I got myself some 100mg Modafinil to add to my daily stack - I gotta say, I am quite excited about that!

What I hope to get out of Modifinil: ENERGY! I want it to completely fight away my fatigue and keep me alert and able to run through my tasks.

How Tongkat Ali 2% Eurycomanone and Siberian Ginseng has made me feel so far:

I definitely felt a spike in energy from the SG, and I have to say, the tongkat is most certainly working!

Today:

100mg Modafinil at like 12PM (pretty late.. I know)

125mg Tongkat Ali

300mg Siberian Ginseng

Afternoon:

10mg Noopept

.. Tomorrow I'm going to experiment with noopept and piracetam ontop of modafinil and see what happens.

I'm into my day 8 w/ having Modafinil and I have definitely found great feedback with the current cocktail i'm on.

The tried and evaluated cocktail of choice!.... For now:

For the past 3 days I've been taking a stack that consists of:

100mg Modafinil <-----  ONLY ONCE DAILY, everything else taken twice

10mg Noopept

750mg Piracetam

20mg Schizandrol A extract

This stack has given me great sustained energy, sustained focus, and motivation.

The only downside is that I need to drink a lot of water to keep myself hydrated.. That is the ONLY downside... I don't have headaches, I don't feel too serious and my mood has only been uplifted (if it has changed at all).

When I tried the 5mg Piperine w/ the modafinil, I felt a rush of energy w/ a minor headache within the forehead region and it only lasted about 35 minutes.

When I took this dose, I didn't take it with anything else - it was just Modafinil (that I took @7AM and Piperine that I took at 11AM)

There's something in me that's a little scared to continuously use Piperine.. I feel like it might throw me off of the constant base-line energy that i'm always getting from my single 100mg Modafinil dose.. I also didn't like that I had a headache once I took it.. Though, I am going to try using it again. I definitely see a place for it within my arsenal - in times that I really need energy, yet, I wonder what caffeine would be like (maybe a better solution).

So for now, that is my cocktail! I take it twice a day (minus the Modafinil, I only take that 100mg once in the morning).

I still feel the Modafinil as I felt it day 1. My baseline of energy feels like it has been increased by 70%. I have energy.

Sooo.. I'm still testing out Piperine, I haven't taken Modafinil with caffeine yet - I might try it just to see what the experience is like.

---------

                    What's going on with Tongkat?

I'm also taking the tongkat 2% every morning. The directions say that I should be taking 125mg once daily... I have been doing that but I haven't been feeling it like I normally would (with the tongkat 1:200 extract). So I upped the dose to 300mg once daily - if I still don't feel it within a week, i'm going to also be taking another 200mg dose at night.

You might ask - what feelings am I looking for?

More angry energy - when I workout on tongkat, I usually can tap more into a angry energetic focus and it amps me up beyond normal ways.

Faster muscle gains - my muscle jumps onto me while i'm on Tongkat - it greatly aids in lean muscle mass

More energy (although, at this point in time, I'm full of energy and I probably wouldn't be able to tell)

        Faster muscle recovery

More motivation / confidence - It definitely pushes me to guard my boundaries and have an open mouth... I am normally confident, but the tongkat definitely accentuates this.

It usually takes about 4 - 7 days to kick into full gear, yet I still haven't had that "yeah, i'm on tongkat" feeling that I normally do.. Therefore, I know that I need to up my dosage. For some reason powder city says that you should only take 125mg of the 2% but taking it at that dose is way too small imo.
