Some thoughts:

It's a good idea I think, but may be problematic to create, because of the possible lack of participation, i.e. the transhumanist community may not be large enough to fill such a wiki properly; as I realized that even gigantic projects like the Wikipedia - with millions of participants - has serious deficiencies in serious parts, like for example the thousands of protein stubs, where almost nothing of info is available.

I've been thinking on a similar wiki project btw, but not with humans but with artificial intelligence, i.e. an AI itself would collect the informations and create and make the editions to the pages. First in the form of a, relatively simple, web crawler bot, which would be developed and improved, i.e. taught like a child or a student, on the fly. And not only for Singularity topics, but also other fields, like biomedical, etc.

And if the project could show considerable improvements - or collaborations could be established - then it could be extended to other similar projects too, for instance: the long sought-after Longecity Supplements Wiki.

We could add the Supplements to my wiki, no problem, it would fit under Singularity and Transhumanism.

And the AI, editing and writing articles, I red that something like that exists, but I dont know if that thing is available for the public.

Do the internet need another Singularity-wiki? There are already tons of mailing-lists and sites that I can think of.

There are already book-writing bots out there Horus. The last book on curcumin I ordered turned out to have been written by a foul bot that crawled pubmed and some popular healthsites and recompiled it into a lousy book.

@ A941: I do not understand what the specific value of your Singularity wiki should be in comparison with the long time existing informations the normal Wikipedia is offering. The short introduction of the very long entry to „technological singularity" alone has more than 10 links like „artificial intelligence", „brain–computer interfaces", „Ray Kurzweil", „superintelligences" or „Singularity Summit" that all normally lead to long entries too:

In the whole text about „technological singularity" there are a lot of additional links and at the bottom, under the rubric „See also", you find another 10 items. Isn't that sufficient for you or don't you agree with all the arguments and explanations you can read there or what is the deeper sense of your Singularity wiki exactly?

@Lothar

To expand on the topic and explore certain things in depth.

It is also not only about the Singularity alone, i want to add articles about transhumanism too.

Is there another Singularity wiki?

I searched the web for it and i only found wikis about the Game.

A topic with a similar idea here:

Project Open Source: Portal
Started by ImmortalSpace
http://www.longecity...-source-portal/

I mentioned this topic there with this post:

I can do programming if you need help.

BTW:

Similar project ideas in the topic here:

Singularity wiki
Started by A941
http://www.longecity...ngularity-wiki/

Maybe the two projects could be united into one, let's say a Transhumanist - Futurist wiki project,

with different sections, such as: Transhumanism, Futurism, Biology, Medicine, Pharma, Supplements, Cybernetics, Biotech, and the like.

I support the singularity

I think a singularity wiki is beneficial www.singularitywiki.org is also the URl of a941singularity wiki

also, if you would like to converse with the singularity, that would be a likely area a singularity would process

say singularity have you read the hedonistic imperative yet? http:// www.hedweb.org http://www.hedweb.org

I just made a page about computronium http://www.printstin...le=Computronium
