Most of that stuff is over-hyped overly expensive garbage.

I read some reviews of this and then bought some. Has 6% Niacinamide in it. It's called night cream but it works fine during the day also under the sunscreen. Has hundreds of positive reviews.

Also has Matrixyl 3000 for those who care.

The link I posted for that product. It absorbs well, within 10 minutes my face is soft, smooth and ready for my sunblock to be applied over it. No added fragrance, sensitive skin friendly and most people think I am 10 years younger than my age. Not specifically because of this stuff but because of everything I do conjointly. But this stuff is helping. Along with my burnout sunblock.

Taurine will stop dry eye and you may have a localised Zinc deficiency. Silica works great for hydration and eliminates wrinkles, a total must.
Easy does it!

Question about that Resveratrol face cream some people are buying. How the heck does Resveratrol effect the skin?

It doesn't - it is a marketing gimmick. Resveratrol's MoA is from inside out, not topical.

Hrm.. We should compile a nice list for a skin-care regimen... My friend likes taking this...

Retin-A
Peptides: MAtrixyl 3000, EGF1,2 with Argireline

This looks pretty good to me..

Ingredients:
Water, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 (Argireline®),  Acetyl Glutamyl Heptapeptide-1 (SNAP-8), Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3, Tripeptide (SYN®-AKE), Palmitoyl Oligopeptide & Terapeptide-3 (Matrixyl®-3000) Dimethyl Isosorbide, Butyleneglycol, Glycerin,  Willow Bark Extract, Bilberry Extract, Sugar Cane Extract, Sugar Maple Extract, Orange Fruit Extract, Lemon Extract,  Sodium Lactate, Panthenol,  Cucumber Flower Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Lycopene, Alpha Tocopherol, Mentho

For Retin-A I am seeing this interesting...

[Topical application 3x/week in elderly people, left arm vs right arm comparison, 0.4% retinol lotion for 24 weeks]...Topical retinol improves fine wrinkles associated with natural aging. Significant induction of glycosaminoglycan, which is known to retain substantial water, and increased collagen production are most likely responsible for wrinkle effacement. With greater skin matrix synthesis, retinol-treated aged skin is more likely to withstand skin injury and ulcer formation along with improved appearance.

DMAE study:

In a randomized clinical study, 3% DMAE facial gel applied daily for 16 weeks has been shown to be safe and efficacious (p < 0.05) in the mitigation of forehead lines and periorbital fine wrinkles, and in improving lip shape and fullness and the overall appearance of aging skin. These effects did not regress during a 2-week cessation of application. Beneficial trends (p > 0.05 but </= 0.1) were noted in the appearance of coarse wrinkles, under-eye dark circles, nasolabial folds, sagging neck skin, and neck firmness. Application was found to be well tolerated, with no differences in the incidence of erythema, peeling, dryness, itching, burning, or stinging between the DMAE and placebo groups. An open-label extension of the trial showed that the long-term application of DMAE gel for up to 1 year was associated with a good safety profile. The acute skin-firming effects of DMAE have been confirmed by quantitative measures of cutaneous tensile strength.

Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3

The compound shows a dose-dependent effect of the peptide of type I collagen of in vitro cultured skin fibroblasts detected with an ELISA. In view of the excellent in vitro results, this sequence was developed as a cosmetic ingredient.

Four groups of 15 volunteers each applied a cream - on one half of the face twice a day during 84 days - containing 10 ppm of Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, 25 ppm of Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, 10 ppm competitor’s peptide or no active ingredient (placebo). It could be demonstrated that deep wrinkles are significantly reduced within 3 months and the overall skin appearance is improved. - Peptides for Youth The Proceedings of the 20th American Peptide Symposium, 2009 page 264

Almost all those reviews are paid for or have "I got this item at a discounted price in exchange of my honest review"

"Also another company that lets you buy their full size products for around $1 in exchange for a review is Instanatural. Just sign up for their emails on their website and they'll send you opportunities to try their products."

How long have you used it for? Sounds ok if they are actually putting all the stuff they claim in but their reviews mean nothing.

Again, you really can't go wrong with retin a. It's proven, I've been using it in conjunction with alpha hydrox glycolic lotion 10% for a few years, I'm a 30 year old male and could pass for 23, and I don't have a baby face to begin with.

I have been using this about 2 months now.

My skin certainly is not getting worse. I moved from metazene gel to this. As metazene seemed to have disappeared from the site I was purchasing it from.

I have found an answer to my own question. Melatonin applied topically acts as a highly potent free radical scavenger. Of course, if the highest purity melatonin is used at 2.5% minimum. It also absorbs UV radiation, increases the levels of Vitamins E and C in cells and increases dermal collagen synthesis (However, copper-binding tri-peptide complex  is more effective).

And why melatonin is good in a cream?

"The topical application of resveratrol has been reported to exert a therapeutic action against several cutaneous pathologies such as oxidative damage (e.g., oxidative DNA damage, lipid per- oxidation) mediated by excessive formation of free radicals and other reactive species (non-radical oxygen species), inflammation, microbial infections, skin cancer and damage induced by the solar UV radiation [5–10]. In particular, in vitro and in vivo investigations on animal skin have demonstrated that resveratrol reduced tumor- ogenesis, inhibited inflammatory leukocyte infiltration as well as the increase in collagen degradation and lipid peroxidation trig- gered by exposure to the sun UV rays. Moreover, resveratrol has been shown to possess anti proliferative properties against skin carcinogenesis on human epidermal cell lines."

New carrier systems have been developed to increase its stability and penetration.
