So lately I've been taking 5mg of Selegiline daily + about 300mg of PEA sporadically throughout the day in order to simply get shit done. This is on top of my 30mg of Vyvanse. I've taken many forms of Adderall, Ritalin, even Cocaine, and most of them do little for me. Wellbutrin doesn't help, Selegiline alone doesn't, and other dopamine-ergic drugs don't either. Just this, and I'd like to find out why.

PEA is very similar in structure and function to amphetamine. Both use the DAT transporter, both are dopamine-releasing agents. Both increase acetylcholine levels in the striatum. But for some reason adderall doesn't work, where this does. The problem is that it only lasts for 1-2 hours, and sometimes the come down is harsh. Plus we know little about it, especially the effects of long-term use. I'd really like to replace it.

As a warning. Selegilne + PEA can be quite dangerous and I advise against experimenting with it just for the sake of it. Taking too much once shot my blood pressure up to 200. Taking it with alcohol lowered it to 79 and raised my heart rate to 150, as if my heart were struggling to pump blood. Be careful here.

This is a very difficult question to answer. We need more info, about you.

What's your history with drugs and medication? Do you have a history of abuse? Does anybody else in your family have any  sort of Neuropsychiatric disorder? What's your actual diagnosis?

Have you done gene-testing via 23andme.com? That could help reveal unexpected MUTATIONS in your genome - perhaps you have a polymorphism in your aldehyde Dehydrogenase (ALDH) enzymes, that makes it so you break down some of the PEA much slower than the mainline population.

MAO-B is the first round of enzymes that break down PEA, but it's not the only one - Selegiline of course hampers MAO-B, but it doesn't affect ALDH, to my knowledge.

Mutations in ALDH might be the reason why some people report potency and prolonged intoxication from PEA, even without the use of Selegiline or some other MAOI.
