Why Can't ATP Be Manufactured and Supplemented?

Since the primary energy output of aerobic metabolism is ATP, an obvious question is why cannot this be manufactured directly and used as a supplement for energy?  

 

Is it too hard to make?

 

I understand it has a short half life in biological organisms, but it is stable in solution?

 

Would it survive digestion?

If you read their studies, the gains people are making are extremely modest, almost insignificant.   See for example Table 3:

They are totally mismarketing this product.   A well trained athlete is not going to have problems making ATP aerobically as long as they don't overtrain.

 

The person who might get remarkable benefit from this is someone with damaged aerobic metabolism.
