This [LR] got me thinking about what nootropics work best with racetam without increasing the risk of excitotoxicity?

What are the most popular combinations? I think piracetam + choline source is pretty popular but are there any bread and butter stacks besides that? Has anyone tried glycine/d-serine + piracetam?

Wrote a post on reddit earlier about that article

A note on finding "syngergy" in nootropics. This is speaking mainly about well founded paradigms rather than molecular biology.

Generally synergy in nootropics will be very difficult to achieve when combining 2 effective substances. Additive effects are quite possible, but to achieve greater results than the sum of the individual effects (synergy) of two effective nootropics is quite an achievement that I've never even seen in rodent studies.

Where synergy can be found is with adding ineffective ingredients to each other or to effective ingredients. Then it's very possible to achieve nootropic effects from ingredients that would be otherwise ineffective (think theanine)

While it sounds cool trying to augment different aspects of glutamate receptors and PDE's to try to achieve some new synergistic effect, as far as it goes for cognitive enhancement, you will prolly get more out of the more tried and true substances.

Some of these suggestions sound cool on paper but when it comes to real life applications, it can get pretty laughable. Taking viagra for cognitive enhancement? A bit pricey, illegal, and will come with a distracting side effect....

Other than choline you want to combine racetams with alcar and potassium.
