Hi. I 've just been tipped off by a member of this forum (http://www.longecity...tating-fatigue/) that the course of my fatigue after a severe drug reaction 18 months ago could be mitochondrial injury. They have suggested

- MitoQ

- C60 Olive Oil

- PQQ

Looking on the web I've found a bunch of other stuff that has evidence of efficacy in healing mitochondrial injuries, eg:

- L-carnitine [1]
- (R?)-alpha-lipoic acid [1]
- coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinol) [1]
- NADH [1]
- membrane phospholipids [1]
- N-acetylcysteine [2]
- Resveratrol [3]
- Shilajit [4]
- ...?

I am specifically interested in substances that can cross the BBB and therefore potentially repair damage to the mitochondrial of my brain. I'm hoping people with some knowledge in this area can suggest a regimen for my purposes.

In addition, what other lifestyle changes can support the mitochondrial repair/biogenesis? I have heard about Keto diet and vigorous exercise can be beneficial.

Hello,

To support the mitochondria one of the best supplement would indeed be mitoq or skq-1. Most of the supplements you listed are a great start! Some products I would add are:

Niagen- NR
Benagene
mitocharger
fisetin
Uridine
pterostilbene
anatabine
alphaketoglutarate
gastrodin
idebenone
quercetin
sea buckthorn oil
n aceytl carnosine

Some supps that can cross bbb:
Mannitol
ascorbyl palmitate
c60 olive oil

I would also look into adding some mineral support magnesium threonate and possibly ormus..

Methylene blue is supposed to augment/support mitochondrial function. Honestly though I think the best thing you could do for overall cellular energy is eat a lot of vegetables or even easier, drink some green drinks.
