Hi guys

I had another thread a few weeks ago about this that got no hits, but i think i was asking too much in page, so ill narrow it down, now that i know what im looking for!

Im on a quest to find out more about myself... I have ADD and im looking at more specific ways to diagnose and treat myself.

I see the site 23andMe poppin up in forums around here... So what is that exactly - its Genomic testing right? Can someone explain that to me briefly?
I gather that you are finding out specific mutations in your genes,... thing is i wouldnt know what to do with the results?do you then need to hand them in to a local expert who can interpret them ?

Also - this lead me on to reading about Phenomics... Do the 2 go hand in hand? and how does one get tested for both?

On my brief read up on Phenomics - would this be related to Aruyvedic principles of the Doshas? i.e. body types etc.

Im essentially looking for the Correct Supplements/ Nootropics to obtain maximum energy, focus and awesomeness.
As well as looking at finding out what the best DIET for my body type and brain chem!

23andme does testing of select single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). They used to provide you with information on how your gene variants affected your health and other traits, but unfortunately the FDA ruled that they could not do this because people might misinterpret the results. Now they only provide information on ancestry.

It is only worth doing if you are interested in where in the world your ancestors came from. Unfortunately they no longer provide health-related information. I think there may be other services that will still do this for you but I don't know them off the top of my head.
