i was checking the forum for threads relation to PQQ and there have been some that were old and not updated in a while, so i have to ask in a new thread, anyone taking PQQ currently and care to share the reason for taking it and any benefits in and out of range of what they were hoping for?

if most of you bother to check this thread and dont know what PQQ is, type Pyrroloquinoline quinone in NCBI search box for articles and you will find TONS of positive research on it and YET its still quite underrated if i may so and also very obscure still, even years after it has been mentioned on this and other forums.

I took it for awhile and thought it gave me some insomnia. It wasn't trouble falling asleep, but waking up early and not being able to get back to sleep. I stopped taking it, and my sleep improved, but I was never sure it was the PQQ. I always planned to try it again and see if the same thing happens. If it did, then I might try a lower dose, to see if there's some amount I can tolerate.

I've been putting off trying it again because... One of the supposed benefits is increasing the number of mitochondria. I assume more mitochondia would increase metabolic rate to some degree. I wonder if that's a good thing.

this mitochondrial biogenesis effect is said to be good for heart health in a lot of those studies, but is it possible it can do so with other major organs, like the brain and liver? it does hint to some nootropic effect but it doesnt specify how it does that.
