Hi All.

Looking for some ideas to help tweak my daily supplement stack.

Some history on myself.

Prolific MDMA user for 3 years in the 90's. Nothing since.

Smoked weed to help with sleep for 20 odd years (planning to stop this in the near future) and yes I'm a normal smoker too. Starting Champix this week though as very fed up with smoking now.

Daily Intake of supplements are as follows:

AM (Empty Stomach)

1g l-tyrosine

200mg acetyl-l-carnitine HCL

400mg argentine pryoglutamate

520mg choline bitartrate

60mg phosphatidyl serine

(the 4 above come combined with some b vits)

AM (With food)

General Multi vit

1g cod liver oil

Vit B Complex

PM (before bed)

100mg 5-HTP

I have certainly found that this has helped with both my general levels of motivation and also my general mental well being that does suffer at times (very sick wife of 32) I feel my regime could be improved though.

Not really sure on my next move from here, have been considering racetams but really looking for some opinions.

Cheers all

Could try one of these:

CILTEP Stack: (term coined by Abelard Lindsay of Longecity)
500mg Artichoke Extract – contains Luteolin a PDE4 inhibitor
20mg Forskolin – raises c AMP levels

Choline, Uridine, DHA (brought to public attention by MrHappy)
250mg CDP Choline
250mg Uridine – as UMP
4 gram DHA - from flax seed oil / need to avoid fish oil due to side effects

Since what you're doing seems to be working, why not just stick with that for awhile? If it stops working, then maybe resume your exploration? That'd be what I'd do anyway... Drink some kona, ride your Kona around the moku.

@sthira - Thanks, been trying this for a few months now. It does have a small positive effect but I feel there is still work to do on the stack as the effects are only just noticeable.

@Mr Psychillogical - Thank you. I've looked at both of these threads and look very promising. Should I drop anything off my existing stack if adding either of these options? Or simply add to my existing stack?

either way, thanks guys for adding some input.

Definitely include the Magnesium, B Complex and don't forget to add zinc too, most men are zinc deficient, and those three are a powerful combination.

In terms of brain health I take all of these every day. It's my 'mind' mix. First row is pills, second row is mixed into a powder and put into nutrient shakes,

Magnesium, Cod Liver /Primrose Oil, B Vitamin Complex, Chromium, Zinc, 5-HTP, Gingko Bilboa

DMAE, MSM, L-Glutamine, Lecithin, L-Tyrosine, Taurine, Turmeric, Choline, Creatine, MCT, Flax Seed

Most of this came from my assertions based on reading 'Optimum Nutrition for the Mind' by Patrick Holford, a guy who really understands the link between nutrition and mental health like nobody else. It's all down-to-earth stuff, no monatomic gold etc. I've been on it for a month and feel amazing.

I also take these for immune system/ general physical vitality:

Acari extract, Vitamin D3, Pro Biotic, Selenium, Sea kelp (iodine), BCAA, Complete Greens, Complete Multivitamin Powder, Green Tea, Cinnamon, Vitamin C, Psyllium husks, Broccoli, Spirulina, Carrot & Kale powders

Interesting, I've not heard of Arganine, but Lysine is in my shopping list for next month, Since I already take l-glutamine, would the pyroglutamate be an addition or a placement?

Actually what is the reason you take this specific combination?

i spelt it wrong, arginine pyroglutamate lysine, it is one molecule actually, I don't think they are the same but I am no expert. I use it for ADD-PI which it really helps for and it also increases release of growth hormone and testosterone

Right then, thanks for everyones' input and apologies for the gap in posting, new laptop and forgot pw until now.

This weekend is a good time for me to update.

1) I'm now a non smoker and so so so so pleased. Couldn't see the point in providing a positive benefit to my neuro health whilst fuc**** it up with cigarettes.

2) Reduced my cannabis intake.

that alone has made a massive difference.

My new stack will now be (thanks to Mr. Psychillogical for the help)

AM (Empty Stomach)

l-tyrosine 1g

alpha GPC (need to experiment with dosage)

AM (With food)

500mg Artichoke Extract
20mg Forskolin

1g cod liver oil

Vit B Complex

PM (before bed)

300mg Magnesium glycinate

200mg 5-HTP

may look into GABA next.

Actually starting to move forward properly now. Think most of that is due to stopping smoking.

Other notes, detoxing with serrapeptase, bromelain and lots of fresh orange juice (oh and water of course)

Doing massive amounts of mountain biking and can now run up mountain with my bike on my back. Been riding 21 years, smoked for the last 17 and guess what? Enjoyed this weekends riding more than all the last 17 years of riding put together.

Thanks to everyone once again, still some tweaking to do but almost there.

:D
