Cycle exercising?

What do you guys think of this?

 

Let's say you do two weeks of hard weight lifting, then two weeks of bike riding, hiking, etc, then two weeks of something else then repeat?

 

Or let's say you did a month of weight training then stop and do a month of MMA training (or any singular martial arts) along with bicycling or something (is it really necessary to weight train all year round?)?

 

Just an idea I am bandying about in my head to try and keep the exercise part of health and fitness fun and less repetitious! 

 

So the question, in addition to "what do you guys think" would be, isn't this a good idea in terms of simulating the variability of activity our paleo ancestors partook in? 

 

And on a scale of 1-10 how healthy is it for our bodies to have this variable approach?

In general, personally I don't see any harm in it. In general, I think it's smart to do things that keep you motivated when it comes to exercise. My personal approach has been to argue that it's pointless to fine tune any exercise regimen until you do something like 5-6 hours per week - well, as long as some of that is cardio. 

 

I seem to recall some studies where the level of muscle fitness is effectively kept up doing something like 1 session of resistance exercise per week, so I would incorporate this into the cycle. Something like 1x resistance and 1x cardio-like per week for upkeep, and the rest where you want to focus your gains.

With cardio, you really don't need to do more than 15 minutes of jumping rope a week to get you into the metabolic burn mode as long as you're doing resistance exercises and other, less intense natural cardio like bike riding,

 

Which is what I have been doing a LOT of lately. I get bored with standing there like "ok now i'm gonna do some cardio regimen" and I just lose interest with that repetitive shit. 

 

At least with cycling you're experiencing the natural environment around you and you can supplement that cardio with some occasional jump roping to get you into the metabolic hot zone. 

 

I say keep cardio natural activities that take your mind off the fact that it is is cardio and keeps your mind occupied with its environment. 

 

Also, I am interested in exercises that utilize the environment for resistance/strength gaining because I am fucking sick of gym membership fee's. We don't need gyms to keep in shape! Even though they are convenient little shit holes. 

 

I'd like to eventually not need those places.

It depends on your own weak points.
To do exercise the amount of requirement of it is questionable, stretching is effective to a degree!

My personal weak points become my joints, I was asking alot from them, but learning new methods of training kept me on track and growing my personal improvements.
Improvement in personal performance is 80% diet. Without it one reaches a peak, a peak of awareness of one's abilities, boredom even. Photonic performance is a satisfactory pursuit, it can banish boredom. Molybdenum can banish boredom imho.

From my personal experience I practice this, sometimes unintentionally and at a slightly larger time frame.

 

I'll exercise for a good 6 months, strength training and cardio, then something will happen or I will get lazy and take roughly 3 to 4 months off. Upon returning to exercising and a good diet, I will end up having gains like I was a beginner again.

So basically I went from 205 to 235 lots of muscle, took an extended amount of time off, return to weight lifting 230 to 250, currently returning from another off period due to being hospitalized with a serious pnuemonia and already up to 253 after 3 weeks.

 

So if you are looking for size this method may help, I believe it has to do with allowing the muscles to replace the Arachidonic acid  in the muscles, due to muscle building being essentially pro-inflammatory. It isn't cheap to supplement with and can be gathered through eating organs of dead animals.

 

I would change up your routine if you don't like the inside of gyms by finding other things to do outside even straight up hiking. its 10 out of 10 good for you as your body loves change!

I forgot to clarify that once, I was almost charged with inciting ritualistic behavior and something about animal abuse.  Just want to cover my ass in case the anti satanists come around again! =)
