Ofcourse i don't want to live forever because it will make me puzzle or bored and another thing is if i aim old and live 200 years is not good for me because i don't feel same as like young age and i don't wanna create problem to my other family member to help me or i don't want to depend on them.

How do you come to grips with the real possibility that nothing exists after death?

I dont think you can unless youve died and come back.

Death happens everyday yet it doesnt change us , or our perception of the world until it matters - which ( when you think about it ) is pretty arrogant considering its been longer than us

The closest example of Death , is near-death where people get these regiious like experinces or flashbacks etc

If thats indication then it suggests we are even more aware  when dead than we are now - which to be frank - isnt much

physically ive already experinced many deaths - all important but not obviouslynot the most important thing for life to occur-  up to a point this loss increased my self awareness but now it had taken it away- and at times forced me to find distractions rather than edure suffering I cant resolve.

If death means no physical constraints or restrictions to evolve then it seems like it would be good , but the catch is ( i fear ) we will almost be too connected and aware to everything else that in essence we wont matter or really be in control , perhaps thats why we need our bodies ( ego )  to remind us ?

Maybe thats were immortality ( in theory ) really could make us " gods " but i highly doubt it , because we are so disconnected spirituality and hooked to our egos that all we do is destroy ourselves and others over petty ideas and false desires instead.

So in short I think death is a better option , as it might mean I get chance to have that immortality somewhere else ( another planet perhaps ) thats more evolved than here, of course it would swing the other way too an be worse .

I wish I knew because if I did Id probably kill myself rght now  rather than fight a losing battle as I have.

Sigh..I'm not sure I get the obsession with living forever.  I think it has something to do with a whole lot of young individuals living in fear, instead of being able to do what you are supposed to when you are young-have fun and live for the day.

NONE of you guys will have a rat's ass chance of living forever.  It ain't gonna happen ya'all.

Oh boy, LOL.  Let's try to get a little better grip on reality here.  Let's try to focus on relationships and passion.  How about living a full life?  Instead, here you are, obsessing about growing old and dying, and desparately holding on to hopeless dreams.

I'm not convinced that there is a forever, however, I do think a hundred trillion years is certainly close enough. :)

You do know what forums you are posting on right?

Anyways, why are you such a defeatist on the subject? You have basically given up without even a fight and while unfortunate, you -are- an example of the average person. People like this are also why funding is so critically low for an issue that should be first and foremost on the minds of any rational being.

What if death is simply ceasing to exist? There will be no -you- in any shape or form other than the bones in a grave. Even those too will eventually be gone forever.

Based on our current understanding of physics, reality, and the universe, living "forever" is very certainly "impossible". Somehow I doubt we have discovered everything about physics, reality, and the universe.

uh I just want to live for ~100 years for now. it seems like the next 100 years are going to be very crazy for humanity and we might even end up becoming extinct before then :/. if we don't and if life is good after that time, then sure, i want to live longer.

I kind of imagine that some kind of security and stability is possible. that after we get passed all these scary checkpoints alive, then it should be smooth sailing, and there should be no existential threats. I hope that's how it is. otherwise we will probably succumb to some threat in the near future, even if we manage to avoid many of them first.
