I've been having to deal with this sensation since my first panic attack a year ago. I would also like to note that I have had a few concussions in the past, one being pretty severe and affecting my cognition for a little over a year.

When I sleep on my left side I feel fine and can fall asleep relatively quickly. However, when I sleep on my right side I get a very bad headache as I sleep. It feels like a pulsing in the left, front top side of my head, just above my temple. It feels like blood flow is constricted. If I want to lay on my right side I need something to be touching the left side of my head, and/or I'll pull my hair on the left side which often relieves the intrusive sensation.

Could this be something to do with nerves or cranial fluid pressure. My doctor always brushes it off when I tell him about it, it may simply be health anxiety.

Could be something like a carotid artery dissection.

Turnbuckle might be onto something. https://en.wikipedia...tery_dissection

It says it can be caused by traumas to the head or neck. Those concussions you've had, where on the head did you get hit?

I've had about five concussions, one being pretty severe which happened three years ago. I hit the left side of my head on the corner of a table and went completely unconscious for a little over a minute. For a few months after that I had trouble thinking, explaining my thoughts, sounds were ear splitting and light was blinding. These sensations subsided until two years later when I had my first panic attack. I had felt the head sensation subtly before my panic attack whilst smoking, however it wasn't very bothersome. Only after my panic attack was it very noticeable.

I feel it right now, it's a strange feeling, nothing like a headache. It reminds me of nerve pain, like a quarter size area that is numb. Like a void or black hole. Idk. I don't want no stroke.
I've also had another severe concussion while mountain biking but that was many years before the one mentioned above.

I've experienced pressure and pulsations in my head for the past two years almost on a daily basis. Not headaches really, but a feeling of tightness or tension. Two chiropractors, a massage therapist and an acupuncturist haven't helped, as well as a CT scan and MRI. I visited a NUCCA chiropractor last week for the first time and I think we finally have my symptoms figured out. NUCCA practitioners rely on X-rays to see if the atlas bone is out of whack. If it is, then the nerves in the face and head are affected. She asked me about head trauma in my past because trauma can jar the atlas out of alignment. To make a long story short, I had my first atlas adjustment yesterday morning and my symptoms are already subsiding. Needless to say I'm cautiously optimistic but happy as hell in the moment after two years of dealing with these symptoms.

Check out NUCCA chiropractic. I was skeptical at first but as I sat in her office chair and viewed my X-rays, my atlas was twisted in one direction and the axis was twisted in the other. My skull was sitting a bit sideways, my jaw was clenched as a result and bone spurs were already forming on my cervical vertebrae. My skull and jaw definitely feel more open and relaxed today which I'm guessing is a result of these nerves being no longer pinched or obstructed.

Good luck!

Could be something like a carotid artery dissection.

I don't know if this is anything of concern but my left angular artery, or I guess the one that passes over the left temple is bulging and pulsating harder than the angular artery on my right temple. Also, have pressure in my left eye but not my right. I'm always touching my head or left eyebrow to try to get the sensation to stop.
