Question about stopping agomelatine

Hello

 

I've been on agomelatine for 87 days and I've had no improvement on any of my anxiety/depression symptoms, or if there's one I can't tell. I've been taking 25 mg of it daily at night. (I was presribed it by a general practitioner because I was extremely wary of what had happened previously to me with paroxetine in regards to sexual matters, which just happens to be one of the topics that has me in this state in the first place). So I wonder, what would be the correct method to leave agomelatine, minimizing the possible negative effects of doing that? 

 

I still have no idea what my third medication will be, but first I have to solve this.

I wonder if this agomelatine might have any relation to my sudden lower levels of estrogen (of exogenous origin, through dermal patches). Because that would be a big no-no. I was told by a psychiatrist that it could interact with estrogen, in the sense that I would have to watch out for my liver, but I don't know if the thing about my levels is related to that.

Agomelatine is a rather mild medication, it should be quite easy to withdraw from.

I was also on it from 25mg to 50mg, and with minimal benefit. Withdrawal was simple, i think most of the symptoms were psychological, i became more irritable when i quit, but nothing like the other medications.

I'm down to half the initial dose by now, probably being more careful than needed I think.

I stopped abruptly after having been on for several months. I had no withdrawal symptoms. That is normal, according to the studies AFAIR, so tapering shouldn't be necessary.

Also Magnesium.  Malate and L-Threonate forms.
Low dose Lithium.  1-5mg/day.
Microbiome..!

Also Magnesium.  Malate and L-Threonate forms.
Low dose Lithium.  1-5mg/day.
Microbiome..!

How do you suggest enhancing the microbiome? At this point, it just seems like a buzzword with little meaning. I just don't feel like eating enough fermented food would solve our problems, I guess.
