I'm putting together an detailed step by step protocol for beating social anxiety, using Nootropics, holistic biohacking tools, exposure therapy and social dynamics strategies.

This is not a product I'm pitching or developing. Here on Longecity social anxiety is one the most frequently listed Biohacking challenges I see people posting about. What I'm developing is an Open Source protocol so I'd like some feedback from people who are struggling with social anxiety and some people who have beat it. It also needs some beta testers who are willing to follow the protocol. Your involvement may entail some brief Skype calls.

Personally I've beat the hell out of social anxiety, multiple times now and I've studied the science and psychology underlying it pretty extensively along with Biohacking. So I think I'm as qaulified as anyone to at least provide the structure of this kind of protocol.

The protocol is currently +6200 words.

If anyone is interested just leave a comment below with a synoposis of where you're at with social anxiety...

Here's a updated preview of the protocol...

The Protocol
The Social Anxiety protocol should take you about 10 weeks to complete. It's going to take 5-10 days for the Nootropics to get shipped to you so in the interim get started with the downloadable tools mentioned: Coach.me, Dual N-Back and recording your conversations.
Week 1
Start with the Phenibut
Limit your usage to 4-5 times a week. Have fun!
Week 2
Add Piracetam
Use the Piracetam 5-6 times a week. If you get headaches as a result of the Piracetam, add some Choline either from a supplemental or dietary source.
Stack: Phenibut, Piracetam
Week 3
Add Oxiracetam
You're probably hitting a motivational dip around now; you've been going out and getting out of your comfort zone and most likely you're a little disappointed with the results. Adding the Oxiracetam is going to give you an extra degree discipline to keep going. Stay consistent with Piracetam as it has cumulative positive effects on the memory after 2 weeks of regular dosing.
Stack: Phenibut, Piracetam, Oxiracetam
Week 4
Add the L-Theanine
You can use it daily, it has a pretty subtle effect compared to the other Nootropics, although you may notice yourself being a little more creative and witty.
Stack: Phenibut, Piracetam, Oxiracetam, L-Theanine
Week 5
Add the Adaptogens
Which you'll find somewhat stimulating so keep the dosages low because you are already consuming a stimulant in the Piracetam.
Stack: Phenibut, Piracetam, Oxiracetam, L-Theanine, Adaptogens
Week 6
Add Kratom
Cut the Phenibut
At this point you should have established some positive reference experiences that you can draw on for confidence so we are dropping the social intoxicant, Phenibut from your stack. We are adding the Kratom though which you will likely find has a similar tranquilizing effect.
Stack: Piracetam, Oxiracetam, L-Theanine, Adaptogens, Kratom
Week 7
Cut the Piracetam
We are going to remove the Piracetam, not because you need to cycle it but to wean you off the stimulants, to de-anchor your social confidence from the buzz. If you really like it (which you probably will) you can go back on it when you finish the protocol.
Stack: Oxiracetam, L-Theanine, Adaptogens, Kratom
Week 8
Cut the Kratom
The Kratom is slightly intoxicating and as you've discovered by now has a steep tolerance curve, so lets cut it.
Stack: Oxiracetam, L-Theanine, Adaptogens
Week 9
Cut the Oxiracetam
8 weeks of Oxiracetam and the regimen of brain training will have leveled up your baseline of focus and discipline by now. So we are going to cut the Discipline Molecule, you may miss it!
Stack: L-Theanine, Adaptogens
Week 10
Cut the Adaptogens
In the final week of the Protocol you're going to eliminate the stimulating Adaptogens so
you are just running on the L-Theanine.
Stack: L-Theanine
Upon finishing the protocol you should have gathered about 50 reference experiences socializing while on the Nootropics and you should have a pretty good idea of how they effect you differently.

In my experience, the best way to dissolve social anxiety is to build confidence. Confidence will destroy fear. My favorite way to build confidence is to practice my ketogenic diet and go to the gym. It's hard to have social anxiety when girls are always checking me out in the gym. Before ketosis, I had severe social anxiety.

And... Cold showers?

Guys,

I'll come at this from a different perspective.  I had severe social anxiety my entire adult life (and dysthymia).  I went on TRT and that got rid of all of the dysthymia and about half of the anxiety.  I fairly recently found out that I was low DHEA-S as well and went on DHEA.  Within 3 days that last 50% of my anxiety was gone.  I thought to myself, "Now I know what it's like to be a normal person."  And I have infinitely less social anxiety than I used to.  I still have a little bit of it simply because I have been quite the recluse over the years, but everything is completely different for me now.

So I guess I'm just saying, don't forget the hormones...

What is TRT?

What is TRT?

Testosterone replacement therapy.  Keep in mind I was truly hypogonadal - low 300's (ng/dl) consistently and nothing raised it that I tried.

Many years later I found I was low in DHEA, progesterone and cortisol.  My guess is that I have low pituitary output.  New man after all of that.  (A low fat, flexitarian plant-based diet really helped as well.)

Testosterone indeed plays an essential role on anxiety. I'm also kind of anxious and to be honest I have forgot to check my testosterone levels. Thank you. Gonna update later!

You'll notice I say "Limit your usage to 4-5 times a week." for a period of not more than five weeks.

I'm not sure if you've ever struggled with real social anxiety or used Phenibut but for people who do and have, it can be really magic stuff to release them from the prison of their own mind. If people are doing an intensive short term period of learning social skills with a little bit of pharmacological assistance, it's a pretty good trade-off in long term happiness.

You'll also notice in my video that I emphasize at least a couple of times that people should not use Phenibut if they have a history of addiction. I have a totally none addictive personality type and I've gone through plenty of phases where I was using very moderate dosages of Phenibut 4-5 times a week without screwing my life up.

Though not really suffering social anxiety, but CFS symptoms. Went already as low as 200 ng/dl (T and DHEA) and 4.1 pg/ml in free testosterone, in my country allegedly still just below the cutoff to start TRT. However, the endocrinologist gave my a further chance in that I should go off all over the counter stuff for one month (pregnenolone, DHEA, melatonin, thyroid, tongkat ali, d-aspartate, horny goat weed...) and then test again. Felt really more exhausted during that month and sort of euphoric the day commencing again.

Just got a call: the lab made a mistake, and have to test again with frozen blood kept - an other 2 weeks to wait. Grrrhh...

You people promote a lot of drugs and stuff and self research. Why waste time and years? Why not just go to counseling and CBT? I know that with practice CBT can annihilate social anxiety and it becomes something internal and not something external like drugs.

The benefit of Bohacking your way around social anxiety, is that it's usually a whole lot faster way of resolving it. Going the route of counseling and CBT you spend months or maybe years delving into your past and hopefully it it works, but a lot of times I dosen't. Whereas these Biohacking solutions work within a few hours maximium.

Propranolol is sometimes prescribed for social anxiety, and is available overseas online.  i am on propranolol, unfortunately it kind of makes get up and go get gone and went.  I mildly and politely urge you to ask your physician if you could take it before sleeping to minimize side effects.

Propranolol?? Hmm first I've heard of it! Have you tried any of the other Biohacks for social anxiety? How does it compare?
