Or YOU could man up and stop starting senseless threads everyday.

I'm just stating the obvious.

I think people who don't understand what depression actually is -- how to face its relentlessness onslaught day in, day out -- people who've no idea how dark and low depression can send an otherwise nice person is one of the very painful aspects of depression. That people not dealing with it just don't understand.

Depression isn't about manning-up. It's not about pulling yourself up cowboy-fashion by your boots. It's a disease.

Man up? Why don't you man up and grow back the hair you've lost to male pattern baldness? Why don't you man up and heal the muscle loss you've occurred through aging. Man up. Why don't you man up and heal your skin wrinkling that's making you look old and washed up? Why don't you man up and heal your cancer? Man up and make your ugly face handsome. Heal your Alzheimer's by pulling up your cowboy boots. Man up and masculinize your arthritis. Your bone loss -- cmon. Man up. Your twisted up spine due to birth defects. Your brown eyes -- man up, make them blue.
