Particularly for the amotivational/anhedonic type. Barring anxiety, would Modafinil produce a decent long-term outcome for low-energy depression? I'm concerned about tolerance/downregulation but since its actions on DAT are relatively weak I'm not sure it's worth worrying about. I'm not expecting a magic pill or anything, just something that would allow me to feel a little more normal.

Well you can try, it's not a dangerous drug... Starting with 50mg for instance, taking a few days off once in a while. It does work for depression to some extent, at least you can get things done, it won't make you happy though.

Helps me FWIW. Helps me focus on being productive rather than being distracted by anxiety and negative thoughts.

Its a SNDRI drug but it acts on completely differened brainareas then the normal ones, ive seen several reports of it working for anhedonia after several weeks so it wont do any harm.

It's helped with my 'amotivational' depression.
