Just real quick:

1. Low omega-6 diet (both arachidonic-acid and linoleic-acid).

2. Fish-oil (3000mg of EPA/DHA per week)

3. Aspirin (650mg per week)

4. Ketoconazole shampoo (once per week)

5. Miconazole cream (daily)

1. Low omega-6 diet decreases the raw material for inflammatory prostaglandins.

2. Fish-oil dilutes out the concentration of omega-6 in the body.

3. Aspirin is a cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor.

4. Ketoconazole is a lipoxygenase-inhibitor.

5. Miconazole is a COX inhibitor.

This is pretty silly, even for a vegan.

1.Omega 6s are very healing for hairloss. I healed somebody of hairloss by feeding them 1/2 cup of pumpkin seed oil daily and coconut oil topically.

2.Omega 3s are the enemies. They are easily oxidized and will cause hairloss via inflammation.

3.Aspirin will cause ulcers are brain bleed.

The only way to stop hairloss is to FEED THE HAIR. Hair is made up of PROTEIN AND MINERALS. I recommend eating 100g+ of high quality protein from a ketogenic diet.

Ketogenic-diet is catabolic. Catabolic as in catagen-phase of hair-growth. Anabolic diet (insulinogenic-diet) is what you need for anagen-phase of hair-growth.

I don't think that explains why all the vegan leaders are bald or going bald. I learned that you yourself suffer from hairloss even though you're vegan, after a quick google search. Vegan diets don't work and especially not for hair growth. Follow my directions and you will be cured.

McDougall

Ornish

Barnard

Esselstyn

They are not bald and well into their years.

Granted a vegan-diet could contain obscene amounts of omega-6 oils and nuts/seeds/avocados. I went to a high-carb (plant-food) diet in order to slow my hair-loss... which it most certainly did. Before that I had a terrible diet and never exercised or got sunlight.

That's pretty much what I'm doing already, for two years. Except I'm not using Miconazole and I'm not as strict with the omega 6 since I like to eat nuts and seeds sometimes.

It seems to be working. Hair loss has not progressed, and there's some small regrowth at the temple areas. I was NW1, and now closer to NW0.

The biggest change was when I started using a different shampoo. Six days of the week I use one with piroctone olamine and peppermint, and one day of the week I use one with ketoconazole. It has completely gotten rid of the itching and stopped the shedding.

Then I also take a few herbs and supplements daily:

Cistanche extract (http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/25954733 http://www.ncbi.nlm....ubmed/25806080)

Tocotrienol Complex (http://www.ncbi.nlm....cles/PMC3819075)

Peppermint tea (androgen inhibitor)

Barberries (increases insulin sensitivity)

P.S. Michael Greger is bald :p

In addition to having peppermint tea regularly, does anyone know of any benefits gained from drinking licorice tea for the purposes of warding off hair loss?

Blink do you know that nuts have terrible omega-3/6 ratios (all except macadamia, flax and chia)? Do you consume fish-oil or eat fish? Michael Greger eats a ton of nuts.

Would you please explain your diet and regimen in greater detail?

Yes I know that. But I'm not convinced that nuts, in moderate amounts, are so bad. Most information I've seen about nuts say they're healthy and anti-inflammatory despite their bad omega-3/6 ratio. Ex. http://www.ncbi.nlm....les/PMC3257681/

Staple foods that I eat almost every day:

Sweet potatos

Beans

Quinoa

Bulgur

Oats

Fish (mostly herring) 1 time each week.

Lots of greens, berries and fruits (two large green smoothies every day). And lots of herbs and spices like ginger, turmeric, rosemary, lemon balm and many more.

A handful of nuts about 4 times each week (Mostly hazelnuts which have high MUFA) plus a table spoon of pumpkin seeds.

Two table spoons each of flax and chia seeds every day.

Then the supplements I mentioned in previous posts plus more that aren't particularly for hair growth.

So what about you. Do you eat flax and chia at least or  avoiding high omega 3 seeds as well?

Licorice made my insomnia worse. It increases cortisol. But I generally have a problem with stress which I'm trying to solve. It might work better for you.

Staple-foods are:

Whole-grain pasta

Oats

Barley

Pinto-beans

Lentils

White-rice

White-flour (make my own bread)

Potatoes

Lots of vegetables

Lots of fruit

2lbs of wild-caught fish per month (mainly salmon, sardines and herring)

Fat sources (in extreme moderation) would be:

Butter

Coconut-oil

Palm-oil

Chocolate

Cheese

Cream

Beef-fat

I avoid all nuts, seeds, avocados and olives spare flaxseeds (which I only add when eating oats, to balance the ratio of 3 to 6) and macadamia nuts. I avoid omega-6 oils, poultry, pork, egg-yolks, farmed-fish, fried-food, any food containing omega-6 oils, corn, garbanzo-beans, quinoa, and soybeans.

I try to keep my omega-3 and omega-6 balanced at the lowest possible level.

I quite enjoy the sweet taste of it, as hot beverages go. The word around it, in terms of protecting against hair loss, isn't absolute.

I suppose I'd ask if it's worth continuing to have as part of my diet? (The few times I had it on a daily basis, I never experienced anything out of the ordinary.)

Licorice is yummy beyond any doubt, especially if we are talking about the real thing that is chewing the root, preferably from Amarelli, the top in licorice (they do have a site and they do sell online too).

http://www.amarelli.it/

For hair loss the supposed benefit would be from the estrogenic propriety of licorice, in other words it is supposed to lower testosterone which gets converted by the enzyme alpha 5 reductase into DHT which supposedly is the cause of hair loss.

Now, in my opinion, lowering testosterone in order to prevent or stop/reverse hair loss is at least a very weird choice....but everybody is free to enjoy his own cup of tea, of course.

I may suggest castration instead, which would be way more effective and would open new career opportunities in church choirs too.
