Basically the title, this function did wonders for me, now I'd like to have it again.
What is the mechanism wellbutrin's action in alleviating backpain? And how to mimick it?

SNRIs seem to have superior record compared to SSRIs when it comes to pain, so my guess is that something related to the NRI gave you the pain alleviation. DRI probably didn't play as much role as NRI, sertraline (SSRI) has pretty strong DRI component and it doesn't apparently perform as well as SNRIs when it comes to pain.
So you could try NRIs, like reboxetine or atomoxetine, milnacipran (1:2 SNRI in NRI's favor), or other SNRI's (they tend to block much more SR than NR though).
