How many people here regularly take curcumin? and if so, what particular benefits/negatives have you experienced from it? I started taking it for my feet, as I have some plantar fasciitis going on, and a slight shoulder strain - but after a couple of days I started to notice an improvement in mental acuity. Quite amazing.

Interesting, haven't felt anything in particular from it. What kind of curcumin extract you used?

As long as we're doing anecdotes, one night after chopping up a large piece of raw turmeric root which I let steep with green tea, I had a peculiar auditory lucid dream (no visuals, which I've never experienced before - neither light nor dark, nor any colours or shapes of any kind). Basically, I was enjoying and seemingly creating extremely pleasant polyphonic, original music with my mind.

Another dreamy anecdote here following the God of Small Things testimony. I've never been a rememberer of my nightly dreams. But recently, an hour or two before bed, I've been steaming a healthy batch (300g) of mushrooms (king trumpets, shiitake, oyster, beech...) and eating these delicious treasures with thick pastes of tumeric, black pepper, ginger, cumin, pre-mixed curry powder, and olive oil. And, perhaps related, I've been having nice, memorable dreams. This may sound like a small thing, but for me to remember my dreams is new and interesting. Maybe it's the mushrooms, the delicious paste, the tumeric, I don't know. But I like it.

It may have to do with components of your brew suppressing AChE (acetylcholineesterase, the enzyme that breaks down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine).

I have not looked properly at the mushrooms you mention, but turmeric does indeed contain a number of compounds in it that seem to be AChE inhibitors. Lucid dreaming enthusiasts sometimes take AChE inhibitors as they are said to increase the likelihood of lucid dreams.

I had to discontinue the curcumin for the time being. It was one of the stronger types equiv. to 15 grams dry root, with added piperine. I take an snri for ocd/panic symptoms, and the curcumin although it felt good for the body/inflammation/cognition it was giving me a clenched jaw and a wired feeling. I was either taking too much, as i've read it can inhibit monoamine oxidase, I dont think it goes too well with the pristiq.

Does anyone else know any substances/herbs that are good for muscular/brain inflammation?

Better sleep, less stress, fix mineral deficiencies, curcumin, grape seed extract, Matcha and Sencha Tea, panax ginseng, also Virgin Coconut Oil has cleared my brain fog for good.

I agree with the wired feeling from taking curcumin, too much of it makes me anxious and restless.

Thank-you for clarifying that 'wired' feeling, birthday. Definitely agree about sleep. What do you do for relaxation? Meditation/visualisation?
