Does zinc make anybody else more emotional and compassionate? It makes me too emotional and "too nice". Some chick I'm seeing said i was too nice while I was on zinc. I thought zincs supposed raise testosterone and make you feel more manly.

Recently, zinc has been shown to modulate antagonist drug interactions with the D1 dopamine receptor (Schetz and Sibley, 1997) and the dopamine transporter (Norregaard et al., 1998). We now demonstrate that zinc also reversibly and dose-dependently modulates the specific binding of the butyrophenone antagonist [3H]methylspiperone to all D2-like dopamine receptors: D2L, D3, and D4.
The dopamine transporter (DAT), a membrane protein specifically expressed by dopaminergic neurons and mediating the action of psychostimulants and dopaminergic neurotoxins, is regulated by Zn(2+) which directly interacts with the protein
Interestingly, inhibition of 5-HT uptake by all three substances, fluoxetine, imipramine, and 6-nitroquipazine, was counteracted by the presence of 1 microM zinc. Free zinc may thus contribute to modulation of extracellular levels of 5-HT and its removal.

I love Zinc, so this my be a little one sided.
You maybe confusing "submissive" for being more Temperate.
In certain species of animals the Alpha males have this trait, its a way of showing he is in control of his emotions.
I know after I started supplementing Zinc I could control my emotions much easier, especially my irritability and anger. Now I physically have to choose to become angry or let myself become annoyed.
Idk food for thought, CHEERS

Zinc also inhibits 5a-reductase enzyme, results in higher Testosterone levels and lowered Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) hormone which is more potent than Testosterone.
Also note that Testosterone will metabolize to Estradiol (Estrogen receptors agonist) by Aromatase enzyme but DHT won't.
I suppose, standard Zinc doses (lower than 30 mg) won't cause significant rise in Estradiol (although reference needed); but you might had low DHT levels in first place.

aromatase can be significantly blocked by either white button shrooms or grapeseed extract.

estrogen has a half-life of 20 hours, so yes.
but it takes about a week for the grapeseed levels in your blood to max out or go "steady state"... same for mushrooms, which have other benefits than grapeseed (immunomodulatory, also source of vitamin D2). so no. fwiw, the immunomodulatory effects persist at respectable strength, for 2-3 weeks after cessation.
these plant compounds are reversible inhibitors and they themselves are rapidly cleared from the blood (faster than they build up in it), and so it takes only a couple days after stopping them to return to baseline (letrozole and arimidex, afaik, are irreversible, and so it takes up to 3 weeks for the body to synthesize more aromatase enzyme then another day for to convert some T to E). the fact that you can pull the plug in a day (with mushies and grapeseed) may be important, because your libido may go. when youre single, you can bust out the lab coat and keep things in check with some voodoo magic... for being such a terrific anaphrodisiac, mushrooms receive little recognition.
Indeed the traditional concepts of the terms estrogen and androgen are now challenged because the role of estradiol in the regulation of spermatogenesis (3, 9) is one that would more properly be classified as androgenic.
