Last night I didn't sleep due to taking modafinil late in the evening yesterday and having to drop off a relative at the airport around 6. So anywho I was still feeling the modafinil around10 this morning but a couple hours later I started to feel an effect I never felt before on modafinil. What I experienced was a huge increase in verbal ability, idk but I wouldn't be surprised if my verbal iq didn't rise by like 15 minutes . I had access to so many words that I don't usually have access to and the tip of the tongue phenomenon was gone! As I was talking the words were just flying out of my mouth. My speech was much more organized than it usually is. Usually I tend to struggl with organizing my speech, I suck at talking. The increased verbal ability wasn't the only benefit. I also experienced my anhedonia completely vanish. Usually modafinil will partial treat my anhedonia like I'll enjoy some things but not others. Also, i experienced a complete absence of anxiety and social anxiety. I was so comfortable around people, that I made two new friends today with absolute ease. I can be around people and socialize with ease but I find it hard to turn acquaintances into friends. Also, besides the others I mentioned I was just able to think better and more in depth. I've never felt smarter and just overall better in my life.

So I'm guessing sleep deprivation somehow increases IQ. I forgot to mention I have ADHD and it temporarily Removed all my symptoms . As of now the sleep dep. effects have worn off and I'm back to my dull, depressed, brain fogged , anhedonic self. Anybody ever experience such a thing with sleep dep?

There seems to be an intuitive response curve, get 3 hours one night and 7 hours the other six and you might notice benefits. But get 3 hours for multiple days in a row, and it turns to impairment. Not sure how this relates to the idea of oversleeping, but the occasional light sleep is definitely therapeutic and clean. I can only compare it to the feeling of a day fast.
