Brand drugs such as Mirapex, contain pramipexole in the form of pramipexole dihydrochloride monohydrate. I'm curious whether there will be any difference if I will use pure pramipexole (C10H17N3S) as a medication. According to wikipedia, in hydrochloride form it may more readily dissolve in the gastrointestinal tract and be able to be absorbed into the bloodstream more quickly, and have a longer shelf-life. I also found out that f.e. 0.125 mg of pramipexole dihydrochloride monohydrate is equivalent to 0.088 mg of pramipexole. But can I use pure pramipexole as a replacement for brand Mirapex and achieve the same results?
