I mean 200 micromoles is a lot of this stuff, which makes me wonder the rest of the pharmacokinetics as well as toxic effects eating strange berries from Mexico might have.

Any ideas?

I read it differently. In order for COMT to work, it needs a methyl donor. They added it to spite their efforts, so that methyl donating wouldn't give false positives from a rate limiting effect.
