Hi guys.

Since antipsychotics are H1 antagonists and thus cause sedation and inhibits libido, I'm looking for a cure for it.

I would also like to know whether H1 antagonism decreases histamine levels? I have no idea what mechanism behind H1 antagonism causes impaired libido. I only know that lower histamine is bad for libido.

I came across a drug called Betahistine, which is H3 antagonist, thus increases levels of histamine, has stimulating effects, and also the net effect of H3 antagonism is agonism of H1 and H2 receptors. Betahistine is also a weak H1 agonist itself.

So do you think this drug would be a solution to deal with antipsychotic's H1 antagonism and it's negative effects on libido? Has anyone tried this drug? Or would you suggest a better drug?

Bump.

I'm interested also in dealing with antipsychotic induced sexual dysfuntion.
