Revisiting Phenylpiracetam at 300 plus mg doses

First of all, the usual disclaimer that my body chemistry is not YOUR body chemistry and I have extensive experience with large doses of numerous nootropics including all the usual racetams.

While I have used phenylpiracetam on a few occasions before, I had usually used in in conjunction with the Modifinil I am prescribed for idiopathic narcolepsy and sleep apnea.   Those times I took it at 150-200 mg and did not care for it.  All it seemed to do was give me a nagging headache, even when I preloaded with plenty of choline and choline/eggs/ALCAR.  Worse than that, it seemed to fragment my thoughts rather than focus them and left me feeling residual depression.

At the moment, I'm on a "drug holiday" from Modafinil (I try not to use it daily and stay off it for at least 2 weeks every three months or so), and just finished up the last of my Piracetam-- which I find does stack well, with modafinil.  So, I decided to revisit phenylpiracetam since I had a large, unused quantity lying around, and Devinthayer's recent posts on this racetam intrigued me.  Was I missing something here?

So, sans modafinil I decided to try a 300 mg dose.

Big difference!

For the first time I could appreciate the strength of this Phenyl v. Piracetam.

Normally I enjoy a slight manic lift from large doses of piracetam, after an "attack dose" phase of two days or so, and I will continue use it at "high" quantities 3-4 grams 3x a day for a couple weeks.

300 mg of Phenyl FAR exceeded the stimulation of even those large doses of piracetam.

While it seems to lack the visual enhancement of piracetam as well as the subtle euphoric lift (again, in my case), the focus of phenyl is extraordinary.

It is so profound it exceeds modafinil and I would say even Adderall, and Ritalin.  It almost feels like 5 mg desoxyn only without the dopamine dump.

Very interesting.   Hard to believe how different my reaction could be to the same nootropic at just a slightly higher dose without modafinil.

For example, I find coffee potentiates modafinil and have two cups in the morning and another small red bull of shot of espresso in the afternoon, so I'm quite familiar with feeling over stimulated, or paradoxically enervated by stimulants, and this afternoon I had NO DESIRE for any caffeine.

I'll have to repeat the experiment tomorrow and try to estimate how long this focus lasted.

Just curious, anyone out there ever push the envelope with much larger doses of phenylpiracetam?  600mg?
