What's the consensus on ceramides?

I thought about adding them to my current skin formula, but not sure if they're lipophilic or hydrophilic or where to obtain them.  I want to add it if it's worthwhile. Otherwise I might just wait till this test is over in 60 days and use CereVe.

Currently I use a hyaluronic acid gel that I made. It contains a derivative of vitamin C intended for topical use. I also added N-Acetyl-Carnosine as an experiment. I also add Nicotinamide Riboside before each application, also experimental. I know NR is unstable after about 6 hrs in water so I have to add it each time I apply.  I'm trying this instead of the regular niacinamide that a lot of skin creams have now.

The other thing I use is an argan oil solution infused with pterostilbene, honokiol and rosemary extract. I'm not sure how well it all dissolves in the oil when heated without having it tested but I do know they're all lipophilic. Some settles to the bottom but you can definitely smell the RA in the oil. It has a very distinct rosemary smell. I also apply it to other areas of my body to see if I get improved elasticity in those areas like my belly, and also to my hair. At the very least argan oil is great for hair but I wanna see what happens when it's infused with the other extracts.

SK-Influx, a ceramide 1, 3, 6 complex, is soluble in water. In addition to ceramides; it contains cholosterol & free fatty acids, too

While the following ceramide 2, 3, 6 complex is oil soluble

On the first one, where does it say it's 1, 3 and 6?

Also on the second one, which I have seen before, how did you determine it was oil soluble?

Wow thanks! I didn't see the pdf. I think I may get the second one instead. I'll use argan oil I suppose.

From Bulkactives:

It is recommended that Ceramides are used in combination withCholesterol NF and Natural Fatty Acids at a ratio of 3:1:1  ceramides, cholesterols, and free fatty acids.

Also,

http://www.ncbi.nlm..../pubmed/9308554

......application of a mixture of cholesterol, ceramides, and essential/nonessential free fatty acids (FFAs) in an equimolar ratio allows normal barrier recovery, whereas any 3:1:1:1 ratio of these four ingredients accelerates barrier recovery.

Sk-Inlfux has ceramides, cholesterol & fatty acids, so you don't have to purchase the latter two ingredients separately.

I am wondering what the ratio should be for the ceramides to water.  E.g. For hyaluronic acid it's 2%, or topical vitamin C it's 3%...

The premix of both Lotioncrafter & Bulkactives have suggested ratio.

I'm guessing it's on the bottle? I was looking all over their site for it.
