It seems like there are conflicting reports for the effectiveness of Dichloroacetate for Colon Cancer.

In the first study, we have this study that says DCA can induce Apoptosis in collorectal cancer cells, however only at high doses: http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/20485289

In the second study, we have this one that says it reduces apoptosis in certain colorectal cancer cells: http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/20537792

Note the atmospheric environments are different in both for how they define hypoxia.

Then we have the same team as the second study publish that DCA affects proliferation but not apoptosis and survival of the cancer cells: http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/25344893

and finally we have a study that says DCA induces autophagy but the changes recover on cessation of treatment: http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/24892448

Can someone who is better versed in this subject matter offer an interpretation of whether the research is pointing to the fact that DCA can help with colorectal cancer. My understanding is that for some cancers inducing Autophagy is positive while others it actually causes a protecting effect. Also, I am not sure why the first two studies I mentioned use different atmospheric environments, what sort of environment would a real tumour be under?

It seems like there is some anecdotal evidence that DCA helps with colorectal cancers, just not sure how to interpret these studies.

Any other opinions / evidence for the efficacy of DCA for colorectal cancers?
