So I'm struggling with some social anxiety and lack of drive. I was suffering from mild depression and OCD, as well as intense anhedonia, before getting on sertraline 50 mg (I had taken it years before as well, then quit and got on it a few months ago). Due to sexual side effects I've decided to taper off and am at 25 mg atm. My life has improved in many aspects and I function better than ever, but I still have anxiety that I'm trying to get rid off (and sexual function hasn't returned fully yet). In addition, I feel like my dopaminergic system is thoroughly desensitized (the reward pathways specifically) - I've indulged heavily in porn, video games, music etc. through the years. I've been working on these bad habits for the last 2 years and I've made significant progress.

In any case, I'm thinking about taking myo inositol, cdp choline and maybe forskolin, as well as tianeptine sulphate and perhaps NSI-189. Does this sound like a good stack? What are the recommended dosages? What are your experiences (assuming you've taken or are taking some combination of aforementioned substances)? I assume I'm better off SSRIs completely. Sertraline inhibits certain CYP enzymes and has some effects that are not synergistic to those of tianeptine to say the least. Not very knowledgeable about these substances as we didn't cover them in med school (talked generally about tricyclics but not tianeptine specifically, and it seems it's an atypical TCA). Thanks for your help!

Snort ginseng and proceed to twiddle your thumbs in a corner for the duration of its effects, each day, twice a day, for 3 years.  Guarantee is to emerge with winning personality.  No guarantees for corners near window!!

I would do just the forskolin (10mg w breakfast) and tianeptine (12.5mg 3x daily).  But you're gonna find it's too good, side effects, tolerance, etc.  Hopefully by then youre out of your rut.

Just out of curiosity would you consider yourself moody or emotional at all?  When's the last time you considered duloxetine or celexa.  My pot dealer does celexa, has for decades.  Generally cool guy, smart, down to earth.  My friend does tianeptine, has for 6 months.  Gamer bum, odd, arrogant, space cadet.  Reactions may vary, as may pre-existing problems.

I didn't understand all of what you said. I have tianeptine, took two pills so far, didn't change anything with regards to anxiety/fluency/spontaneity etc. Seems to be antidepresive primarily. I think my dopaminergic system is fucked. The reward pathways fried. I've had what I call lucid moments where I'd be totally in the present and the words would come to me without thinking. Right now I find it a chore to deal with people, my girlfriends or even have sex. Everything I say is contrived and unnatural. I've become good at it so it doesn't come across as too awkward now. How do I change this?

I'm zombified by zoloft I think. The thing is I'm still on 12.5 mg. No depression plus anhedonia = zombie mode. I also have low libido, whereas it was very high before. I feel like anxiety is creeping up on me again. I had some very fluent moments that came out of nowhere, kinda wish I could be like that at will when in social situations. As it stands now I'm in some sort of indifferent state, with low level anxiety and brain fog.

Sorry to hear about your experience. It is good that you are tapering slowly off of Zoloft, but I would think that at this stage 12.5 mg's is a very low dose. Maybe time to ask the doctor for complete discontinuation. Zoloft caused anxiety issues, among other issues for me many years ago. The doctor tried to counter it with Buspar. It was a mistake.

You kinda have a problem with the Anxiety/OCD issue. It may be that some things which help with you possible reward system burn out, might have anxiety as a side effect. If it was not for the Anxiety, it could be that your doctor would prescribe Wellbutrin. It could possibly help Anhedonia, and the sexual side effect persistence. That was my experience after the Zoloft mistake.

Yesterday, I heard a presentation given by Dr. Steve Blake, ScD which was given for the  Nutritional Therapy for Parkinson's Dopamine issues, which also has implications for those with Dopamine issues generally.  It was for the Commonwealth Club of California.  Go to the Audio section of their Podcasts, and listen to it or right click to download the .mp3 file to listen at any time. https://www.commonwe...g/media/podcast

If you go to the following link it is to the table of contents for his book which lists the factors but not details. http://www.naturalhe...kinsonBook.html

Interestingly one of the herbs he mentioned is Gambir which is Uncaria Rhynchophylla that is being discussed in another thread here: http://www.longecity...ke/#entry792195

"A Review of the Neuropharmacology of Bupropion, a Dual Norepinephrine and Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitor"

"Conclusions: The preclinical and clinical data show that bupropion acts via dual inhibition of norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake and is devoid of clinically significant serotonergic effects or direct effects on postsynaptic receptors. Dual norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibition is associated with a unique clinical profile. Bupropion has demonstrated efficacy comparable to that of other antidepressants. However, because bupropion is a selective norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor with no serotonergic activity, common antidepressant-associated side effects, such as sexual dysfunction, weight gain, and sedation, are not associated with bupropion therapy"

I am a doctor, just graduated. Got brain zaps as we speak, didn't take 12.5 last night. I'll try NSI-189.
