Doesn't matter when it was,  It shows your integrity is stuffed somewhere inbetween the hundred dollar bills that line your wallet.    You used a weak angle (the only one you could find at the time) to try to scare people away from taking it.  ANY MONEY says that if you had a patent on Pterostilbene,  you would not have brought up the liver scare and if anyone did bring it up you would have dismissed it as silly- and that is the bottom line.    You know it, I know and the people of longecity reading this, know it.

Werper,

You can think whatever you want, but the facts remain:

1- We could buy Ptero and make products from it if we thought it was better at activating sirtuins for the price.

2- That post was from a valid concern held 5 years ago, science is falsifiable and opinions change with more data.

3- You also act like you hate capitalism, yet don't provide a penny to support longecity... why?

Cheers

"1- We could buy Ptero and make products from it if we thought it was better at activating sirtuins for the price. "

I don't have enough knowledge on the inner workings of your business to know your true motivations for posting your scare tactics.  Ex.  In order to get a good price on your micronized resveratrol you ordered a very large amount.  Your clientele on longecity that is helping reduce that huge stock pile of product suddenly evaporates due to the new product that showed better bioavailability.

"2- That post was from a valid concern held 5 years ago, science is falsifiable and opinions change with more data."

Classic case of plausible deniability in the name of science.  One thing is correct that you said and that is you had a valid concern,  concerned that pterostilbene posed a threat to you.

"3- You also act like you hate capitalism, yet don't provide a penny to support longecity... why?"

No, I hate coming here seeking knowledge and truth only to see those with financial motives trying to steer me away from that.   If I was making money off this website as you are, I am sure I would be contributing too.  Regardless, I do use this website and enjoy the insights of those with background in science and I will consider contributing.

Werper,

Seriously off topic now...

1- Resveratrol is the staple of many americans. The price/benefits show this for us. Resveratrol is a commodity, can't be patented. Universities love it because of its low price and so do many people who find that 1.5 grams to 2 grams... are really good over a period of 3 months. (See PCOS study and their insulin findings). Don't get me wrong, bioavailability is awesome but do we find the same sirtuin activations between these two materials? I don't think so. Why do you think some people are adding resveratrol back to their supplements after trying other things out?

2- See all you are doing is making false assumptions yet again. You think I hate Ptero? No I don't, but from a business standpoint I am not convinced it is better at activating certain things that we have seen cheaper materials activate.

3- You have been on this board for 5 years, and you have not contributed squat. For all your talk about "seeking knowledge and truth" and hating people with "financial motives" steering you away from that, you yourself have yet to contribute a single $1 in 5 whole years. Don't expect me to believe your words if you can't even help longecity with a donation. Actions speak louder than words right?

Get on the ball sir, and donate today:

Now... can we get back to NMN?

Stop trying to brown nose the moderators with trying to guilt people into donating to the cause.  Do you know how ridiculously silly it sounds to say you can't believe in what someone says unless they contribute?   Absurd.

More off topic stuff...

How is longecity to survive and provide you "knowledge and truth" you hold so dear... without donations?

You yourself stated that you come here for "knowledge and truth," yet you berate those providing the very money to support longecity that also happen to provide material, personal opinions and truth...

I could understand if you were a newbie here...  but 5 years? This Werper issue now reminds me of the Free rider problem (https://en.wikipedia...e_rider_problem)

Anyway, you can't have it both ways, especially if you love this place like I do.

Please create a new thread, this one is about NMN.

Werper just wants to hijack it now.

Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) "has both intra- and extracellular forms in mammals. Intracellular Nampt (iNampt) is an essential enzyme in the NAD biosynthetic pathway starting from nicotinamide." https://www.ncbi.nlm...les/PMC2734389/

Extracellular Nampt (eNampt) is a major cause of "inflamaging" http://www.anti-agin...pt-inflammation  James Watson May 2016.  Recap from the end of the article:

  • eNampt has a protein moiety on the protein that “mimics” endotoxin and activates the TLR4 receptor, essentially creating a “sterile inflammation.”
  • eNampt is secreted by “angry microglial cells”, angry macrophages, and visceral fat.
  • eNampt signaling via TLR4 triggers two pro-inflammatory intracellular cascades/transcription factors, NF-kB and AP-1.  Simply inhibiting only one of these pathways like NF-kB does NOT work!
  • eNampt expression triggers the expression and secretion of practically every SASP biomarker/cytokine, such as IL-8, IL-6, MCP-1, IL-16, TNF-a, IL-1B, CCR3, etc.  Thus eNampt triggered secretions “mimic” cellular senescence!
  • eNampt can be inhibited by NMN.
  • eNampt can be inhibited by FK866 and MSO, two small molecule inhibitors of the enzyme.
  • eNampt induces “insulin resistance” by making the IR translocated out of the lipid raft (i.e. it “pushes IR off the raft.”)
  • eNampt induces “IGF-1 resistance” in joints by making the IGF-1R unable to trigger cell growth and cartilage ECM generation.
  • eNampt is the “ISIS of Molecular Biology”

Appreciate you bringing this to the table Anthony!

And to all the naysayers who haven't been around here since the early days of Imminst.org... Anthony has always been a stand up guy, putting his name and company on the line to do the research, find the sources and provide a high quality, clean product for us to try. These days, with any new 'cutting edge' supplement, we're always immediately flooded with bottom-of-the-barrel, contaminated crap from unscrupulous vendors. So the service Anthony provides, I find, is invaluable. Also, lets not forget the incredible work he did in helping a fellow member, 'thefirstimmortal', when we were all trying to save the poor guys life. (long story, look it up for those who weren't around at the time)

All in all, I think most who've been around these forums over the years, fully know who and what Anthony is and what he is about. I for one, am glad he's here.

Thanks jCole,

I appreciate the mention of the member called 'theFirstImmortal' that we all tried to help.

He died the day after my daughter was born, so he is someone I will never forget.

As for NMN, I am talking to the admins about some freebies to a few members.

Hopefully I can hand out some stuff soon...

I like to think, that while he may of lost the battle, he'll win the war, when he comes out of cryostasis someday... :)
