I have a hunch that high fat meats give me constipation and sticky poops... and research seems to confirm my hunch :)

Similar to previous studies that evaluated constipation in the NHANES surveys, constipation was defined as less than three bowel movements (BMs) per week.(8)

I have about 3 bowel movements per day, with about 45g of Sat fat in average. Of course, I also get about 56g of fibers and ample water each day. I differ substantially from this study population with much lower Sat fat and fiber intake.

Coconut oil, which is around 90% saturated fat, has a laxative effect.

As with many findings on saturated fat, the association with constipation probably doesn't actually have anything to do with the fat being saturated, it's something else that commonly comes with it. The saturated fat in the study is probably coming from meat. Meat has protein. It's often cooked at high temperatures. So, maybe it's the high-protein, or the oxidized fats from how high-satuated-fat-meats are commonly cooked, or AGEs, or other foods that are commonly eaten with meats, like potatoes and refined grains.
