Oxytocin was discussed in brain health, but my interest in it is for bone and muscle.

https://juicedmuscle...ontent/oxytocin This has the best discussion. It's worthwhile reading the whole thing.

Scientific references:

https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/19369205 "Oxytocin is an anabolic bone hormone"

https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/25209411 "Oxytocin and bone"

https://www.fightagi...ation-in-aging/

https://www.ncbi.nlm...pubmed/24915299 "Oxytocin is an age-specific circulating hormone that is necessary for muscle maintenance and regeneration"

About Oxytocin

One IU of Oxytocin is about 2 ug of pure peptide.
Nasal spray does not build bone and muscle well, because its gone too quick.
Doesn't get in the brain well either because the molecule is too big.
Slow sublingual administration which lasts a long time is preferred.

A bottle of OxyLuv nasal spray is cheap - US $35 at Amazon.
It's manufactured with 6500 IU in 60 mL, but it slowly degrades on the shelf.
Keep it refrigerated.

Troche Description

These have 5 IU per troche, but you can easily double the oxytocin to make 10 IU per troche.
These are comfortable between cheek and gum, easy to make, dissolve slowly for an 1 hr or more, and cause no irritation. Each troche uses 1/2 tsp of dough, so 20 troches require 10 tsp of dough + wastage.
The ingredients listed below add up to 10.575 tsp

Ingredients

100 IU of Oxytocin. For this I use 10 squirts of Oxyluv nasal spray, about 1 mL, 1/5 tsp.
2 Teaspoons of Water
2 Teaspoon of Raw Honey
1/8 Teaspoon Powdered Ginger
1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon Orange Zest from a fresh organic orange
2 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder, if needed, add extra to get a stiff dough.
I use Gold Coast natural unsweetened cocoa which originates from West Africa.

Directions

Add 10 squirts of OxyLuv to the 2 teaspoons of water and swirl.
Add honey, ginger, cinnamon, and orange zest to the water+oxytocin and mix.
Add 1 Tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder and mix.
Add remaining cocoa powder a little at a time, blending well after each addition.
Continue until you have a stiff dough.
Grease a 1/4 tsp measuring spoon. I use coconut oil, keep it greased.
Fill the 1/4 teaspoon with the dough using a table knife.
Pop the dough out of the 1/4 teaspoon onto waxed paper using another table knife.
Repeat until the dough is used up (should make 20 lozenges).
Press with your thumb to flatten each lozenge out for faster drying
Place lozenges in dehydrator at 95°F, or in oven overnight with oven light on.
Dehydrate until completely dry.
Store in airtight container and refrigerate until use.

That's a great post.

But wouldn't heat drying speed up the degradation of Oxytocin?

Yes, that's a concern, although degradation in the supplied liquid for a month at 40°C is tolerable. I suppose as the trochs dry, the degradation might accelerate. Next time I'll let them harden at room temperature (25 °C). The leftover dough on the sides of the bowl turned hard very quickly.

http://www.idafounda...ty-studies.html  "Within the 13 commodities identified by the UN Commission of Life-Saving Commodities for Women and Children, oxytocin is the only product with a recommended storage condition between 2-8 degrees centigrade." The shelf life [°C not specified] is 2 years, at 25 °C is 1 year. At 30 °C is 6 months.

"Average degradation after one month at 40°C is approximately 6.1%".

I have the spray bottle and troches in my refrigerator at 1.7 °C , as measured with a remote sensing temperature gun.

Too bad you can't dry in a vacuum.  Anyway, your assumptions seem reasonable that the lozenges would maintain potency for a long enough period, especially if they were refrigerated or frozen.

Place lozenges in dehydrator at 95°F, or in oven overnight with oven light on.

Dehydrate until completely dry.

My oven with the light on overnight got to 118 °F = 48 °C by morning.

Next time I'll let them harden at room temperature (25 °C). The leftover dough on the sides of the bowl turned hard very quickly.

Some people prop the oven door open with a pencil. This lowers the temperature. I have magnets that are approximately 1/5 of an inch thick. I am able to maintain my oven from the mid 90 degree (With 5) to well above 100 degrees (with 1) depending on the number of magnets which I stack together on the door.

Thanks for the excellent research, recipe and strategy.
