Enzymes are proteins. The liver builds them. But what are the original material from which the liver builds enzymes ? They sure do not come from nowhere.

The liver builds them from amino-acids. There are at around 20 amino-acids if I remeber it correct.

You are right - enzymes are just proteins, as each other protein. The position and the repetition of each amino-acid is encoded in the DNA of the gene, that is responsible for this protein. The process of making the enzymes is done from the ribosome. The ribosome in the cell reads the DNA in triplets and binds the aminoacid corresponding to the triplet. Was this what you are asking for?

supplemental enzymes, at least the ones i tried,  seem to come from aspergillus, a mold that eats a substrate and produces enzymes. i got very sick when i tried some (mold allergy)... very toxic
