Here is my confusion, if autophagy speeds up the accumulation of senescent cells in tissues, is it more harmful than helpful to use fasting and other methods to induce autophagy? I think I could be misunderstanding some research/articles I read. Can anyone clarify for me?

Additionally, is there any research showing autophagy assists in clearing senescent cells?

I posted this in Aging Theories.  It's very confusing.
