For the past 4 years, I have used and enjoyed ketamine on a weekly basis. However, after 4 years of use, my tolerance is skyhigh and I enjoy almost no subjective effects anymore. Basically, it does almost nothing now except make me feel a bit numb. I've realized its time to put ketamine, and other drugs, on hold. To be honest, it frightens me a bit that it has no effect at all anymore, because I figure it must have made some structural changes to my brain. I'm joining longecity in hopes of determining what those changes are and how to reverse them. I don't notice any difference in my mental health when sober, but I figure there must be some sort of change if there has been a structural change to my brain. Further, the damage may have accumulated slowly enough that I didn't notice the changes as they occurred.
I've decided to go on at least a 3 month break from all drugs to give my brain some rest and healing time. If possible, I want to accelerate or assist that healing through use of nootropics. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where to start. I know that ketamine is an NMDA receptor antagonist, so I imagine that for some reason, my NMDA receptors are no longer being antagonised (inhibited) by ketamine. I guess what I need to do is restore my NMDA receptor's ability to be antagonised. I don't want to do this so much so that I can feel ketamine again, but more so to reverse whatever damage was done to my brain so that I can operate at full function. In my normal every day life, I don't notice any different mental effect caused by the changes to my NMDA receptors, but I figure there must be some change. I want to reverse any damage, if possible.
Any suggestions for nootropics that could help heal the damage, or any information on what damage may exist, would be appreciated!
