to make a long story short, I've been experiencing these symptoms fairly regularly since October of 2010. I've been to the ER several times, I've gone to a cardiologist once, but they've never noticed anything physically wrong. I feel a constant over awareness of my heart, along with an extreme chest tightness and at its worst a feeling of someone sitting on my chest\squeezing the area that would be around my heart.

I'm currently prescribed celexa (10mg per night, been on it for four weeks) and klonopin (.5mg twice a day,on it for a week now). I was also a semi-regular kratom user until I started to get these attacks which worsened after ingestion of kratom. The last attack while on kratom, had me hunched over the sink, with my legs shaking and experiencing left arm weakness, while also having some of the worst crushing chest pain I've had in my life. I was extremely close to calling 911, but I took 1mg of klonopin and it seemed to die down a bit.

can this all just be anxiety? I have no idea what to do to get rid  of this. I was thinking of asking my psychiatrist for a beta blocker, but she doesn't seem like the type who would prescribe it.

I'll also add that I'm trying ashwaghanda and it seems to help a bit (maybe), but i'm not sure if its just placebo.

sincerely thanks to anyone who replies!

as an aside: this also seems to have been triggered around the same time I developed depersonalization\derealization in october of 2010. I still have that to varying degrees as well.
