Hi, Thanks in advance for any help. This is not an attempt to knock a vendor. I have seen multiple Caprylic acid MCT oil vendors who claim 99 to 100% C8 in their product. Each product lists 1 tablespoon as the serving. How could they all be what they say, but each have a substantially different calorie count?

A= 92.5 calories

B=100 calories

C=130 calories

A vendor explained it by the following, and if true, something is deceptive.

"the good news is the shorter the carbon chain, the less net calories it contains. A tablespoon (13.6
grams) of coconut oil contains 117 calories. A tablespoon (13.6 grams) of (brand A)
contains about 93 calories. (That's 6.8 calories per gram versus 9 calories per gram) If the label
of any MCT claims over 100 calories per tablespoon I would question whether it is really C8 MCT.
Also, keep in mind oil is lighter than water and a tablespoon is a measurement of volume not
weight.
