Hi,

I have been taking Niagen, Nitro 250 Resveratrol, and Metacurcumin after my breakfast everyday for a few months. Lately I have been contemplating whether I should instead take these right after I wake up in the morning with an empty stomach or continue to take these after my breakfast in order to maximize the benefits. Can any of you please give me feedback on whether I should make the change or continue what I have been doing?

Thanks,

Be_Healthy

I can only offer an opinion, what I do, and why. I take a cocktail of supplements upon waking with a 1/2 cup coffee and 1/2 cup cashew/coconut blend. The cocktail consists of  500 mg Niagen, 100 mg EnduraQ (isoQuercetin),  a Herbal/Botanical blend (Bacopa, Ginkgo, gotu kola, sage, grape seed, turmeric, Ashwagandha, rosemary, Mucuna pruriens), and Collagen/Hyaluroric Acid with a Polyphenol/Flavonoid/Anthrocyanin blend.

In short, these three groupings are for Energy, Memory/Mental Clarity, Skin and body.  I take these apart from food for quick absorption, so the process of digestion does not delay those entering the blood. And none of these specifically say "take with food". I typically wait and hour or so, then have breakfast and take supplements that do suggest "take with food".

I don't have the Resveratrol/MetaCurcumin you do, do they suggest with or without food?  Why don't you simply switch things around and see how you feel? Good luck.

(Bacopa, Ginkgo, gotu kola, sage, grape seed, turmeric, Ashwagandha, rosemary, Mucuna pruriens),

My understanding is that Bacopa and Ashwagandha are better taken at night before going to bed as they improve one's sleep.

The product is a blend called "VitalStyle Brain Nutrition". And yes, I'd seen the same suggestions, but here, seeing as how they're talking "Memory Enhancer & Mental Clarity", it's hard to see taking it and going to sleep, yes? So I did some research to get to the bottom of when to take these and other herbal supplements.

Which led to interesting Google searching and reading. But briefly for Ashwagandha here, "Ayurvedic physicians prescribe the root as an all purpose tonic, a grounding herb that stabilizes mood." seems to sum it up best.

But briefly for Bacopa here, "has garnered a good deal of buzz as a nootropic supplement used to enhance memory, but has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine since ancient times to treat mental illness and a range of mental functions.

So whereas together Ashwagandha and Bacopa may be grounding and calming, so good for sleep, it not all they may halp with.... and so why they are used in these types of supplements.  It seems different websites highlite different aspects of ingredients' effects to suit their discussion. Lots to learn.

Good start Oakman. I take most of what you take and about 8 others on an empty stonach. Then wait 1 1/2 hrs to eat breakfast, making sure I wait 14 hours after having dinner to let autophagy do some cell clearing (got to let that Naigen we both take do its job).

Is your "Polyphenol/Flavonoid/Anthrocyanin blend" a blend you buy, or one you make?

These folks, Youtheory, make a bunch of different blends.

The ones I use are "Hyraluric Acid, Advanced Formula, Joint and Skin support
