Apparently icariin has the ability to create new blood vessels like bpc-157. In this study it was used to strengthen the tendon to bone after surgery. Could it be used prior to surgery in cases like partial tears or tendinosis? Anyone have any thoughts?

If you are looking for a vegf stimulator then you might as well go with nicotinic acid.

Uncaria Rhynchophylla is probably the best supplement for angiogenesis without risking to feed a cancer.

What type of tendon injury do you have, GreenmachineX?

Right rotator cuff tear (supraspinatus) and left rotator cuff tendinitis or tendinosis. I have bpc-157 here but can't bring myself to use it for fear of what the long term problems of unregulated angiogenesis might be.

Are there any studies that show the efficacy of BPC 157 for tendon and ligament repair?

Have you looked into prolotherapy for tendon and ligament repair, and an updated version of prolotherapy called prolozone?

I have very stretched ligaments in my pelvis, due to a yoga injury, and tried all sorts of collagen and elastin-boosting  supplements to try to repair them, but to no avail.

However, I understand that prolotherapy can be effective, although I have yet to try it. Prolotherapy involves injecting a plain glucose solution into the ligament, which causes an inflammatory response in the ligament. During the inflammation that ensues, the ligament repairs itself.

I haven't tried prolotherapy or prolozone yet but have tried dry needling which helps just a little in pain relief, but I'm not sure if it's influenced healing.
I'm very interested in the prolozone and will dig into that more for sure. Thanks.
The only studies on bpc-157 healing tendons and whatnot are in rats at this point.

The rats were gavage fed daily with  0.125 mg (1/8 g) of icariin per g body wt  Full text

The human equivalent dose for a 80 kg person is then (1/8 mg/g)(80,000g)(0.16) = 1.6 g/day      (Rat-to-human conversion factor is 0.16  ref )

1.6g/day has not been shown to be safe if continued very long.

I am a long time user of bpc and if anyone should have bad effects from it, it would be me. Suck it up butter cup and give it a shot! :)

Will do. I have high hopes for it. If it works, I'll be doing both shoulders and knees. Then I'll be broke, but at least I'll be able to workout again lol.
