My friend had CKD and was on dialysis. He was tired of his life and committed suicide.

I have only one working kidney and recently I noticed that my serum creatinine levels and potassium were slightly high.

I´m paying more atention to what I eat.

I didn´t find recent articles about COQ 10 and CKD and would like to ask experts here which dosage is recommended for CKD or if it´s better an strategy to take other supps with COQ 10, to increase kidney glomerular filtration rate.

I´m planning to take 200mg ubiquinol daily, but don´t know if it´s a good dosage.

I know that milk thistle and pyridoxamine (P5P) can help too but at what doses?

In rat and mouse studies, Low NAD+ is a cause of kidney diseases. Increasing NAD+ will prevent further decline or even reverse the damage. My wife's kidney function improves after taking Niagen. Give it a try. It is the only drug that can cure kidney diseases even though it is not a drug yet.

It is NAD+ world inside our body. Every cell is regulated by it.

You are just ignorant. Niagen (Nicotinamide Riboside) is the only drug that is effective against aging and age related diseases.

It just takes time to prove it in clinical trials.

MikeDC banned Aug 8.     Evan Yang joined Aug 10.

I wonder if a supervisor can track the origin of  those posts and see if they come from a Niagen business address?

Long term NR results are not all positive:  NAD+ precursor nicotinamide riboside decreases exercise performance in rats by 35%.

Nicotinamide riboside has never been shown to be absorbed without first being digested back to nicotinamide and ribose, thus it is far cheaper to take nicotinamide and ribose as separate supplements and avoid that digestion step (and 90% of the expense).

That's not surprising as NR in sufficient dosage (they used 300 mg/kg body weight) will fission mitochondria to minimum size, and small mitochondria are less efficient in producing ATP. In fact, I've used that in a protocol to get the benefit of exercise with less weight--Exercise Like a Girl. So I suspect that had the experimenters allowed a week to pass with no NR supplementation, the treated mice would have shown a net benefit. That benefit would have been larger the older the rats were, as defective mitochondria build up with age and NR sets the QC program running. But since they used rats that were only 4 months old, they likely had few defective mitochondria. Better to use rats that had lost a significant portion of their youthful vigor to demonstrate rejuvenation.
