They bring relief on my anhedonia occasionally. I want to know if I should avoid those, would they make me worse long term? Would they decrease the effectiveness of drugs that might bring my emotions back? I know sex and porn makes me feel terrible and I should avoid... but what about stimulants? I still don't know. If anyone has the answer please tell me.

Things that boost neurotransmitters can make you feel worse afterwards, since within Anhedonia you have a deficit of neurotransmission, you might feel a caffeine or nicotine crash much harder.
Same with alcohol, stimulants.
If you're anything like me, caffeine or nicotine doesn't do anything at all while in Anhedonia, but i distinctly remember being able to get high off caffeine before i got it.
Once the Anhedonia is in remission you'll be able to enjoy substances in moderation. Alcohol should be avoided though until then.

Same with alcohol, stimulants.

years ago u posted a thread i think on longcity or somehwere else, that nicotine actually helped your anhedonia?

Yep. i used nicotine spray for a period of time, it helped heaps at the start but then tolerance & dependence, it becomes useless.

Amphetamines are especially dangerous to use for Anhedonia, since they can cause it to worsen in the long term.
I'd only use them for severe treatment resistance, and in combination with an MAOI & highly monitored by a psychiatrist.
mateusbrasil, I have a genetic based Anhedonia. Triggered by workplace stress. Started out as moderate depression then the anhedonia came later. Had it for about 5 years now, but ive got the knowledge to keep it under control.

As coisas que impulsionam os neurotransmissores podem fazer você se sentir pior depois, pois dentro da Anhedônia você tem déficit de neurotransmissão, você pode sentir uma queda de cafeína ou nicotina muito mais difícil.
Mesmo com álcool, estimulantes.
Se você é algo parecido comigo, a cafeína ou a nicotina não fazem nada enquanto estiverem em Anhedônia, mas lembro-me de ser capaz de tirar cafeína antes de obtê-lo.
Uma vez que a anedonia está em remissão, você poderá desfrutar de substâncias com moderação. O álcool deve ser evitado até então.
I agree, although this does not happen to me with the use of nicotine(in me), I notice an aggravation of my anhedonia after a 'Sugar Binger', but of course!, my anhedonia is due to schizophrenia (and I also have ADHD).

I'm a huge fan of caffeine and nicotine. Along with the nutraceutical Quercetin (which makes the caffeine pleasantly INTENSE).
