I'm looking to experiment with some exogenous GABA supplementation, but it has a very short half life - only 17 minutes in mice.

Is anyone aware of a sustained release GABA supplement?

Don't know but personal experience tells supplementing GABA leads to effects lasting noticeably longer than 17 minutes.

I might suggest you to just try out regular GABA first to see how it goes.

Quite nice stuff actually....almost recreational I might say.:)

What dose do you find interesting.  I take 750mg and get nothing.

LOL:)....5g in my post workout shake (that's something like 100g + maltodextrin in it, maybe the insulin peak adds somehow), definitely noticeable and pleasurable.

Taking 500-750 mg GABA on an empty stomach usually gives me a niacin-like flush 30-60 minutes later.

You want something like Picamilon or Phenibut. Forms of GABA that are more potent than GABA and has lasting effects for me anyways. Never saw anything from GABA.

No.  If you use either phenibut or picamilon with any frequency you're going to build tolerance rapidly and have an unpleasant time coming off.

And in any case, I'm more interested in the effects of GABA in the peripheral nervous system rather than the CNS.
