Are you referring to this? "Due to its low solubility in water, solvents such as ethanol and dimethyl sulfoxide are often used to dissolve resveratrol. However, these solvents have adverse effects on cultured cells or in vivo."

 

I wasn't able to find any information on exactly what adverse effects they are referring to. But in the case of ethanol, I am certainly willing to live with them! If it didn't taste so horrible, I'd dissolve some in my daily beer.
