none.   other than some superficial effects, none have done anything for me.  I've tried several.

I suspect they don't do anything for anyone.   The placebo effect is strong.

Why don't you just try it. It's not too expensive at ND.

Which did you try, what doses, and how long? I notice some take a few days to notice unless taken in higher doses.

I like aniracetam because it does a really good job at smoothing out the adderall I take and keeps me talking to people when I otherwise wouldn't from the adderall.  It helps with adderall agitation too.  It's a good 'chill pill' and helps slow my mind down in a good way.

Thanks for the comments.

For those who’ve taken both, which racetam do you think is a good alternative to selegiline (my favourite nootropic)?

none is comparable to selegiline buddy. you need to research racetams better i guess.

CWF, how does it work as chill pill? from what i gather it works on AMPA and those are usually stimulatory...

CWF, do you get the biphasic effect some ani users report? I do ... it starts out with a “chill” at first but a few hours later it turns stimulating.

1. Piracetam
2. Omberacetam (Noopept)
3. Phenylpiracetam
4. Aniracetam
5. Oxiracetam
6. Pramiracetam

Haven’t tried coluracetam and fasoracetam yet.

Different ones for different reasons ... phenyl is the most stimulating so maybe good for Monday morning but otherwise I prefer something more subtle. Sometimes I stack ani with a little phenyl. Oxi and pram for an occasional change of pace. Omberacetam is good for a couple of days but too strong for ongoing use even at my low dosage. Most of the time it’s piracetam.

i would say piracetam too as well. its the classic racetam that still works to this day and everything else is just DLC based on it. ive tried the others too in samples from nootropic depot they sell them like that and honestly pircatetam is weaker at first but long term worked for me. reason why im still unsure of the others is as i said i tried samples in short runs maybe they hold potential

No, but keep in mind that I do have adhd so what's stimulating for most will help ease my inner restlessness.

I've tried nupept too and it's not as relaxing as aniracetam, but it chills me out a bit too.  Mostly I like nupept for getting more 'aha' moments during the creative process of a project, better 'focus endurance' and the slight mood lift.

For some reason I can't edit my own post. So disregard the last one; here is the edited version.

1. Piracetam
2. Omberacetam
3. Phenylpiracetam

5. Oxiracetam

I like oxi better than the ranking would imply and often use a little pram to give a stack a little more cholinergic bias. Omberacetam (Noopept) is good for a couple of days but too strong for ongoing use even at my low dosage. Most of the time it’s piracetam.

It seems the consensus opinion here is piracetam. As a newbie here that is the one that seems to get recommended the most.

I have been recommended piracetam by a few places, is the Nootropil brand the one that is considered to be the highest quality in terms of quality assurance?

If you’re a racetam newb piracetam is definitely the starter racetam ... it’s the original and still a top choice for the experienced. If you have authentic branded Nootropil at your disposal that would a logical choice. Otherwise look to reputable vendors of generic racetams, for example Pure Nootropics or Nootropics Depot. Because of the relatively unregulated nature of these products, it’s especially important that your source is trustworthy and uses in house and/or third party product testing.

I've tried noopept, aniracetam, and phenylracetam.  All of them by themselves had subtle but significant effects.  Why would some prefer piracetam over some of the others?

CWF ... I can only speak for myself, but it’s not a matter of not liking the other racetams. I like ani and phenyl quite a bit, for example, and stack then whenever I want sustained energy. It’s just not an everyday thing. Most days the more neutral effect of piracetam is a better fit. Actually what I like most about the racetam family is the variety of options ... them come in different “flavors” that help keep it interesting. I enjoy a good steak, too, but sometimes would rather have chicken or tuna or ...

the one which replaced with green tea and a loopy amount of bacopa.  its piracetam.  i say either stay simple with the original or go all out, with faso, nefi, colu, or phenyl, etc (have only tried pir&ani, i'm just going by what others say)
