For me inositol didn't work. It is supposed to act via indirect serotonin pathways, so it can be used as an adjunct to SSRI's as well.  I took about 12 tot 16 grams for a longer period of time, but it didn't affect the unwanted and intrusive thoughts of my Pure Obsessional OCD.

Paroxetine is an SSRI. Have you read about these? It's a first-line treatment option for OCD, but Paxil isn't the best one in my opinion. It's known for weight gain and sexual side effects.
If you're taking this route then fluvoxamine (Luvox) or escitalopram (Lexapro) is a better option. Lexapro is very selective for SERT. Paxil touches other receptors as well and can cause drowsiness and dizzyness, more than other meds from the same category. It is one of the better anti-anxiety SSRI's though, but I wouldn't actually recommended it over other SSRI's.

I took paroxetine a number of years ago and as far as SSRIs for anxiety go, it’s good. Not crazy about SSRIs as a class, though; if you have other options I’d check into them. If it’s an SSRI, then paroxetine may be the best option.
