It is amazing to compare the specs on the latest chips and chipsets to those from 15 years ago. Incredible speeds, enormous memory, flops, etc... Technological progress continues at a fast pace.

It's truly amazing.   One of these chips could of replaced an entire data center (comprising of hundreds of servers).

If I recall correctly, in 2003 most chips were still being made at 130nm with less than 100 million transistors (cpu frequency was peaking at around 1.5Ghz)  AMD's Zen 2 should be close to 40 billion transistors with a much higher clock speed.
