Brenner on the 2019 NMN study earlier this year: nature dot com /articles/s42255-019-0085-0.epdf?author_access_token=-UP5iWplZ7oaWp-5nQ8C7dRgN0jAjWel9jnR3ZoTv0OXtI1Fn5KDmQYxSeU-XNCOqhegy8Gv5vwbUhWY7eACk8O8WO9Hck2AYXOTEEScqG23xTpJcIVhy1kV1xeUN_qrnj5p3xfzmU43XMyGh_xpEw%3D%3D

(Excuse the nonclickable link, I am too new to hyperlink. Paper is directly linked from his Twitter.)

Thoughts? Seems bad for anyone banking on NMN being Superior to NR if true (ahem, Sinclair).

And a very speedy response:

"We appreciate the authors’ insightful comments and the opportunity to clarify the important issues related to our recent publication2. However, their claim of ‘absence of evidence’ has no concrete foundation and the data in our article strongly support our conclusion that Slc12a8 is an NMN transporter, although there are still many interesting questions regarding the structure and function of Slc12a8 as an NMN transporter."

That was quick. Am I right that it's biochemist for "go f--k yourselves"?! Anyone have any read on who is right/whose paper sounds more credible and convincing?

How can you trust any of these so called researchers/biochemists or whatever you call them. They are nothing but salesmen out to bash each other's product. They fudge the numbers on their papers and most of the time fail to test nicotinamide to give a comparison. I'll never fall for this crap. Nothing but snake oil.

lets just say nmn has more benefits than nr because you get more placebo effect while taking nmn than while taking nr like magic and stuff so Banner can be happy

The Brenner paper also has response to the response from the NMN paper. The data is pretty much just noise and they manipulated the data by shifting the position. The NMN transporter was made up.
