I'm trying to find out about the phamacokinetics of rapamycin. In particular I'm interested in the effectiveness of different pathways with respect to dose.
I notice the in lab studies usually e-Rapa (micro enteric coated rapamycin) or peritoneal injection is used.
If the absorption of rapamycin taken as a tablet only about 14% is absorbed, the means the yield of a 10mg tablet is only 1.4mg. Is this number for an enteric coated pill?
I assume peritoneal injection is 100% absorbed. So a 1.4mg injection would be equivalent to 10mg ingested? How much different would an intramuscular injection be?
Many things that are poorly absorbed in the GI trace are well absorbed transbuccally (e.g. resveratrol). If rapamycin is absorbed transbuccally how would that affect the dose?
Can anyone point me to a good source of this kind of information?
